WAITING, WATCHING, PATIENTLY. ALONE

Moses was in the wilderness for 40 years tending his flocks, blissfully ignorant of what was going to happen until the burning bush. For 27 years I have been waiting, watching, patiently, ALONE, for Elijah III the prophet to come and set things straight just before Jesus Christ returns. Oh I've done some volunteer work, If you want a job volunteer for free and maybe you will be hired if they like what you do. No hire. Not yet anyway.

Since 1996 my page on the net was the only one with the true story of the true church's fall in healing. I also was the only one talking about Elijah III, the name of my page. Then a very exciting thing happened several years ago. A new church split from the United Church. It's first sermon by Richard Pinelli was entitled "Where in the World is Elijah When We Really Need Him." I expected much but NOTHING came of it. Not another word!

Got on Facebook. Nothing happened there. Still there. Tried Twitter with a lot of conservatives. Nothing except I was visited by two secret service guys for my John Booth Society. Dropped Twitter. Then a couple of days ago I watched "Wolf on Wall Street." Jordan Belfort defrauded people of millions and millions which they will never get back, wrote a book for 1 million, got another million for the movie. He's now a motivational speaker after serving only 22 months in jail. By the way, Chong, in jail with him, advised him to write a book.

So why not write a book. There definitely is one inside of me. Instead of defrauding it is the one book WITH THE WHOLE TRUTH! I'm writing it right now and putting it on my little big man page as I go. FOR FREE! Think of me as Winston Smith of Orwell's "1984," the one person on earth fighting against Big Brother Satan! I find that I've been suspended for 3 days on Facebook (4-28-14) for commenting on Cliven Bundy saying he wondered if blacks weren't better off as slaves. I said I DIDN'T WONDER. While Cliven blamed the government I said the whole country is to blame because of our sins. God has CURSED us by the tails, blacks and Hispanics, becoming the head. Blacks are to blame too. God said they are a CURSE! To sum it up I said democrats are evil, having abortion and sodomy in their platform. Blacks voted 90% democrat. Hispanics 72%. Well nobody is suspending it now on my little big man page.

My life began when Kennedy's ended. Some buddies and I were driving down Montana St. in El Paso when we saw crowds of people lining the streets. We stopped to find out was going on. The President was coming down the street so we stayed and watched. That's how involved I was. ELIJAH III

The best job on earth is not being President of the United States. In a few more years there will be no United States. It's not being the Pope. There will also be no Catholic Church. There will be Jesus Christ and his kingdom for 1000 years. And there will be a prophet like Elijah who will come before the great and dreadful day of the Lord to set things straight and turn hearts back to God the Father. I believe I'm on the inside track for that job. And it has never been easier to be on the inside track of anything.

Google Elijah III and you will see what I mean. Nothing really except me at the top. That's the way it was when I first started my page, Elijah III, in July of 1996.

There was one man on this earth who should have been Elijah III. Herbert W. Armstrong. God called him to restore the truth to this earth. To start the second to last era of the church, the Philadelphian Era. He produced the Plain Truth Magazine and the World Tomorrow radio broadcast. He started the Radio Church of God. But when he changed the name of the church to the Worldwide Church of God in 1968 he had been making one big terrible mistake, a giant step away from God. Insert from my FB page, 4-18-12 - Looking for the Original WCG? Dave Pack's ad asks this question. WRONG QUESTION TO ASK! It should be, Looking for the Original RADIO CHURCH OF GOD? The Radio Church of God taught that it was idolatry to go to doctors for healing. The Worldwide Church changed that doctrine so it was OK to go to doctors.

HWA should have been Elijah III. He said he was. See Pack's video, "I Will Send Elijah to Restore All Things." But ELIJAH would not have gone back to the vomit of this world by going to doctors once he had known the truth that it was going to Satan's agents. Now most of the people from that Worldwide church, which no longer exists, are in 4 or 5 much smaller, ineffective churches or in hundreds of tiny specks of churches. Most think that Joe Tkach, who replaced HWA upon his death in 1986, changed the major doctrine of healing and started the Laodicean Era of the church. There was one man who knew better. Me.

My prayer to God was please not let me be confused. I was given the job of archivist by God in 1983, although Mr. Neff, who hired me, may not think so. When Dr. Hoeh asked me why I was in archives I just said God wanted me there. Heard some mumbling under his breath but nothing definitive.

From the get-go I knew there was a problem with healing in the church. And now I had the facts at my fingertips. The only one on earth to have them there. So I researched healing and in the summer of 1985 finished it. It was called "Liberalism and the Healing Booklets." I sat on it waiting for the right time to submit it.

The right time came at the Feast of Tabernacles. Herbert Armstrong was too sick to go to any feast sites like he always did. Healing would have been uppermost in his mind. After I returned I submitted it to my boss, Mr. LeRoy Neff. One day after weeks Mr. Neff asked me to stay after a department head meeting and showed me a large stack of papers on his desk and said mine was in the middle somewhere. I told myself that I would submit it through other channels should Mr. Armstrong die.

Remember King Ahaziah? He went to the priest/doctors of his day to find out if he would live after a fall. Elijah said, Isn't there a God in Israel? Why go to the Philistines? To Baalzebub? Beelzebul in the New Testament. Satan's healing names. One, Lord of Flies, the other, Lord of Shit. God's healing name is RAPHA! Elijah told the king he would not leave his house alive. I believed Mr. Armstrong would not leave his house alive unless he repented of going to Satan's agents of healing, the doctors. He had been having one come to his house on a daily basis, sometimes two times a day. HWA did not leave his house alive!

If this is starting to read like a movie it's because one should be made. Ah but your sins find you out.

Herbert W. Armstrong wrote THEE book on healing. He said it was idolatry to go to another god for healing through that god's doctors. Yet when that healing booklet came out in 52 I believe, Dr. Ralph E. Merrill, a prominent Glendale surgeon, was on the board of directors of Ambassador College and was teaching a class on diet and its relation to sickness and disease. But he did much more than that.

The good doctor intervened medically with HWA's barber's son who HWA had anointed and put on a fast. The son revived quickly. One for the doctors, none for God. Then a prominent Texan who gave the church land for a feast site and then college had a son with diabetes. HWA approved giving him insulin. He thought it would be bad publicity for the church if he didn't used the simple medical treatment. It would be a crutch until God healed the boy. The boy grew up to be a 21 year-old young man when he died of the disease. This was 1956, the turning point year! HWA let the doctors give a member insulin only 4 years after he published the booklet which said that going to doctors was committing idolatry because you were going to another god!

So there was a wake-up call. HWA's son Richard was in a very bad car accident in July 1958. His internal organs were moved out of place. Bones were broken. One hospital in San Luis Obispo wanted to give him a transfusion but Richard refused. HWA drove up with Dr. Merrill. Richard was moved to another hospital and given a transfusion there when he was too weak to refuse. Dr. Merrill advised Mr. Armstrong to leave him in the hospital! Richard wanted to leave. The college nurse, Mrs. Lutrell, in a ministerial conference said that Mr. Armstrong could have signed him out of the hospital legally and let God do the healing but DR. MERRILL had neglected to tell him he could. HWA felt he could be jailed if he took Richard out. So he decided to let the doctors have him and admitted they did a whole lot to him that they shouldn't have. Doctors said Richard would die if moved and in the irony of the whole thing, Richard was moved all the way to LA because his kidneys failed and he needed dialysis there. He died just before getting connected to the dialysis machine after an all-night drive. Mr. Armstrong lost his #1 son. Why?

HWA said Satan was striking at the Work and God allowed it "to WAKE UP many of you careless and negligent and half-indifferent co-workers." At the ministerial conference in January 1959 HWA said something different. Now God had a reason for letting Dick die and we must find it. He never found it.

Richard had told his wife he had an abiding premonition that he was going to be called on to glorify God in furtherance of God's Work as a martyr by violent death. Now is that time!

It didn't happen with Mrs. Armstrong's death because of a blocked bowel in 1967, God's second wake-up call. HWA fasted and he came back personally from heart trouble that could have taken him at any time as he admitted. He put himself back on track and asked God for special HEALING GIFTS, more than before. That didn't happen. Because now the blame was back on the sheep. It came to Mr. Plache and HWA that there were 2 Commandments God's people were prone to break, the First and the Fourth. The church had taken care of the First by putting God first. The problem was not keeping the Sabbath as it should be kept! NO, THE PROBLEM WAS IDOLATRY. GOING TO DOCTORS!

Does James 5 say to go to the elders of the church and be anointed when you are sick and also GO TO DOCTORS? The sick need a physician BUT WHO IS THE PHYSICIAN? WHO IS HEALER? Who was whipped beyond recognition so we could be healed by his stripes? Doctors? The church is standing on SAND! Its sin shall find it out SHORTLY! Jesus said of John the Baptist, "What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A REED SHAKEN WITH THE WIND? When the winds of change by Satan starting WITH HEALING, not even HWA stood without shaking. The whole church shook. I was the only one I know of at that time who did not shake with the wind. Do you get the drift? I was like John the Baptist, Elijah II. No one else! And I was the only one who told the true story on the net in 1996 about how the church took a giant step away from God in healing. It was called "God or Doctors?" Now back to some more history of healing.

I found letters from the sheep to the ministry in archives. In a letter to Ernest Stockstill dated 8-3-55, "...Don't even entertain the idea of using medicine. Put it clear out of your mind! Don't even CONSIDER using it! God says that would be putting another God before HIM - the god of THIS world, DOCTORS AND THEIR DRUGS, and God calls that a great SIN of idolatry!"

Then a letter from Richard Armstrong to Rod Meredith dated 1-28-57, the year of Richard's death. "It was felt as a final conclusion, that we should not order any person to go off drugs or medicines!" Then a letter from a poor little sheep, Mrs. James F. Ward answered by Richard, 4-9-57. She asked, "but I do want to know if you think it is a sin to go to doctors." He didn't answer her but told her that the church would not forbid her to go. If you have the faith, God will heal. If you don't and feel you should go, then by all means go. AND THERE YOU HAVE THE BIG CHANGE IN HEALING! And Richard died for it.

In the August 1964 Good News, the magazine for church members, David Jon Hill, "You can go to doctors for your healing if you want to - the Church of God advises you that this is NOT the way to be healed." ADVISES? So the Commandments are suggestions? Advice? At the ministerial conference of 1968 Mr. Apartian said that going to doctors was not a black sin. NOT IDOLATRY, was what he was really saying.

January 1969. Ministerial Conference. The healing booklet was taken out of publication for revision. I was a freshman at AC and didn't know what was going on. Thought the revision was a small thing. But it wasn't! It was no longer idolatry to go to doctors! After 10 years of limbo, the liberal 70s, where ministers and employees of the church received medical benefits from the church, a new healing booklet came out in 1979 that did not have IDOLATRY in it! If you didn't have the faith to be healed you had better go to doctors. The sheep didn't have faith because they were not taught the truth in healing since 1957.

The Church started in 31 AD. HWA was baptized in 1931, 100 19-year time cycles later. 2 cycles after 31 AD, the temple was destroyed in Jerusalem. The church fled. A new era started. 2 time cycles after 1931, the healing booklet was stopped. Healing was changed. And I believe we entered the last era of the church, Laodicean, in 1969.

I. "WHERE IS ELIJAH WHEN WE REALLY NEED HIM?"

No, I didn't say that. Richard Pinelli gave that title in the first sermon given by the latest new church which has come out of the United Church of God. The Church of God, a Worldwide Association. Listen to it at vimeo.com/25332308. Of course he didn't use Elijah III because that's my name for him. Yet i was very excited to see that Mr. Pinelli said an Elijah was coming to correct the church! So I'm watching this church and wondering how many believe what Mr. Pinelli believes. Jim Franks, Doug Horchak, and Don Henson are on my friend's list. I have ministers from United on my list. But ministers from Meredith's church who were on my list took themselves off. [I am no longer on Facebook!]

A PROPHET. A REAL PROPHET! Elijah called down fire from heaven and God answered him! He told the people to bring all the prophets of Baal and the groves to the brook Kishon and slit their throats there. A lot of them were priest/doctors. That's why there weren't any doctors in Israel when Ahab's son fell from the lattice. Ahaziah had to send messengers to the doctors in the land of Philistia.

A daughter of one of the church's evangelists told me to to tell her when I found Elijah III. I told her everyone will know when Elijah III comes. Just like Elijah and John the Baptist. Both made a lot of waves! Now John did not perform any miracles. But then he preached before Jesus was killed. Elijah III will preach before Jesus comes as King of Kings and kills most of mankind. So I believe we shall see POWER from Elijah III. And that's why I destroyed my best work, "God Or Doctors?" I've had those words of TRUTH since 1996 on the web AND NO RESPONSE (except 1). I'm tired of words but still I write. I want to see POWER! I want to see Elijah III. And I'm so sure he's coming that I tied my hand behind my back, my proof that the whole church is off the track in healing and would go into the tribulation if it wasn't for the coming of Elijah III! That's why it's so easy to be on the inside track. The church isn't even racing.

Look, I've just started this book. I have 293 people on my friend's list in FB. Very few women because my page is very serious! Yet, not one response to my book as yet. Not even from Tim Hall. So so far, no interactive book. But this is only Day Two.

Some times men called by God begged off. Moses said he couldn't speak. God gave him Aaron. Jonah fled and was swallowed by a big fish. He went on to do the job. Jeremiah said he was too young but Samuel said, "Speak Lord; for thy servant heareth." Now I've been hearing but don't know if God is calling me to be Elijah III. If He calls I shall say. "Here I am. Send me."

It's hard to imagine BO saying to a prophet that he was troubling America and the prophet saying, "No, BO, you are the one troubling America." But we shall have such a prophet! And those who believe him WILL BE ONE!

Isn't that what we long for? TO BE ONE AGAIN? TO BE STRONG! TO HAVE DUNAMIS! TO HAVE MIRACULOUS POWER! The Philadelphian Era had little dunamis. Little dynamite. If you were to write a book, what would it be about? How would it compare to Elijah III? How would it compare to getting a people ready, preparing God's Jewels, so they could go to Petra and more preparation?

So Elijah III needs to come to turn hearts back to God Rapha. Baalzebub is not the healer. Early doctors said they got their instruction from the gods. That's in the history books. But who has studied medical history? I have. You should know that the gods are Satan and his demons. Doctors have always been on Satan's side. Early Israelites and early christians did not go to doctors. Not because they were primitive. They were obedient.

Tell me, who has God said we should go to when we are sick? Does He mention Dr. Frankenstein? Does He say take herbs and then be anointed? Now He also doesn't say fast and be anointed but if you studied fasting (who has? I have) you know God made the animals and animals fast when they are sick. He made us and we could fast too, water only. Animals don't drink squeezed fruit juices.

Elijah III would tell you to quit saying, "Happy Birthday." You rave against Christmas and yet say the pagan happy birthday. It stamps you as Satan's, just as Rx, the eye of Horus, stamps drugs as Satan's. Just as the 2 snakes of the medical caduceus stamp the medical profession as Satan's.

Elijah III would tell women to quit wearing makeup. Don't look like a whore! Let your kosmeo (where we get cosmetics - your adorning) be in subjection to your husband like Sarah was. Not outward adorning but inward adorning of a meek and quiet spirit. Do not try to usurp authority over a man. Be keepers at home!

Just saw on shining light blog that Malm was saying that Dave Pack was spending his sheep's money on extravagant buildings. Elijah III will tell you to take him, Gerald Flurry and others like him to the brook Kishon! Well, probably not but I put it in for punch.

So where is Elijah III? He's here somewhere. If it's me, Lucerne Valley, CA. You think he lives in a big city? Wilderness probably like John the Baptist. That's why I moved to the desert. Plus I didn't want all the crime connected with all the minorities. Will he be a minister? God is sending a special messenger because his ministers are not doing their job. I don't think he will be a minister. Look for someone who has not changed in the midst of doctrinal change these last 50 years. I have not changed.

I remember quite well when the STP came out in 1978. It was against the truth in healing. I was able to read it when the ministers got it because the minister from Paris, France was staying at our place. I didn't go along with it and thought HWA would do something about it. He did. He railed against it but when his new booklet on healing came out in 1979 it did not have idolatry in it. When he came back from his heart attack he said he was going to put the church back on track in HEALING. He didn't. At his last passover service in 1985 he said he was mainly responsible for so many going to the doctors. I had hope he would still do something. He didn't. Elijah III will do something!

So if you don't change when everyone else is changing you are ALONE. A couple of high school classmates decided to do a bio of students this year, our fiftieth. I sent in what I had in FB. She said she would have to edit it because it was so long. I told her she had my life in her hands and to leave the controversial parts in. She didn't. But it came out funny. Look at my bio and see if my favorite book is "Alone." She also had me down as a member of COGWA! I'm not even going to bother with corrections. But "ALONE" does fit me quite well these last 24 years.

My first wife could not take it alone. She went to Mr. Neff when I was suspended from my job as archivist and from going to church. He told her I said things in my paper on healing that the church never said. Ya, like the church took a giant step away from God in healing. Laura had worked for Mr. Neff. He gave her away at our wedding. When I wrote "Liberalism and the Healing Booklets" she said it was the best thing I had ever done. But she couldn't go it alone. She ended up as Mr. Joe Tkach's secretary, KNOWING HE WAS WRONG! She did quit him though and went to United. I talked to one man in United when I visited before Laura joined. He said he was comfortable in United. Well, I was not comfortable being all alone. But then again, I was, because I surely wouldn't be comfortable with others who did not believe the truth in healing.

II. Elijah I and Elijah II

Elijah came from Gilead. The balm of Gilead. The world thinks that was a good thing. Blacks wrote a spiritual song about it. But balm is a drug. A maxim in medical history - where there are drugs, there are doctors. Jeremiah 8:22. "Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?" Gilead was in Manasseh. It had the most doctors just like America does today. and Americans are sicker than ever!

Hosea 6:8,9. "Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood. And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of PRIESTS MURDER in the way BY CONSENT: for they commit ENORMITY [in the margin of my American Holman Bible]." God is talking about DOCTORS! The New York Times said that doctors were STEALING with their high prices, the driving force bringing on the most personal bankruptcies. Also making it difficult for our companies to compete with the outside world. A DRIVING FORCE BRINGING OUR COUNTRY DOWN ECONOMICALLY! AND IT'S BY CONSENT! But now BO is forcing everyone to buy Health Insurance!

So Elijah knew a lot about doctors just as I know a lot about doctors because I did a study on them. Even if it wasn't idolatry to go to them, I wouldn't because it's a gamble and they could kill you on short term and eventually in the long run! AND THE ENORMITY THAT THEY DO TODAY? ABORTION!

Just how enormous is abortion? It's Satan's perfect crime. The aborted cannot be resurrected because they never drew that first breath and with it the human spirit. When we die our spirit goes back to God with our last breath. He uses it to resurrect us. The aborted never had a human spirit. So you see our sin is MUCH GREATER than our forefathers who also sacrificed their children to the gods. But God will resurrect those Israelite children of old.

Elijah also lived at the end of King Asa's reign. Asa was the second example HWA gave in his first healing booklet. ASA WENT TO PHYSICIANS, NOT TO GOD. He died. Do you see that physicians are not God's agents? If they were, the Bible would have said Asa went to God thru the physicians.

You've got to like someone who mocks the false priests of their day. And then slits their throats! No namby pamby! Not a smooth talker. maybe their god is pursuing. was he hunting? after female gods? maybe he's just a big talker. could be traveling around. or maybe he's just plain sleeping.

I wrote the class prophecy in high school. It was a roast of all my classmates! Loved doing it. My mother said the Superintendent of Schools had tears in his eyes from laughing so much. The father of a high school friend asked me where I got my material and when I told him I just wrote it, he just said "Naaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww!"

And how about the shortness of Elijah's prayer? Got to like it. Remember Sadat and Castro. We have a couple of guys out on the internet like that. Malm and Thiel.

"Lord God of Abraham, Isaac,and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast TURNED THEIR HEART BACK AGAIN." Elijah III is going to do that too.

And that letter he wrote to King Jehoram. Your bowels are going to fall out! What a letter!

How about those captains of 50 who ordered Elijah to come with them. Burned up. Twice. the second captain not too smart. the third one, smarter. Some times people can be so stupid. Like the priests of Baal jumping up and down to get that basturd Satan to speak. cutting themselves, one bloody mess. bet they were surprised when they got their own throats slit! finally the surgeon's blade does some good! there are going to be lots of surprised people in this world. SOON!

How many people believe that there will be no Elijah III because the original Elijah will be coming before the great and dreadful day of the Lord? Monte Howie, the brother of David Howie, who I roomed with in Fargo, North Dakota before coming to AC Pasadena, just told me that. I removed him as a friend in FB.

Jesus Christ in Matthew 17 said Elijah will come and restore all things. Then he said Elijah has already come. He didn't say an Elijah will come and an Elijah has already come. But that's what he meant! Because the disciples knew he was talking about John the Baptist when he said Elijah has already come!

And so we have Elijah II. "But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet. For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist..." How would you like to have that on your resume?

"What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?"

THE MAN STOOD BEFORE GOD RIGHT UP TO HIS DEATH! He didn't change. For 24 years i've had to stand alone and i haven't changed either. That's got to be worth something on a resume.

John the Baptist was an ascetic. No fine clothes. Lived in the wilderness. Ate locusts and wild honey. He didn't eat bread. Didn't drink a drop of wine or hard liquor. So people said he had a devil. Jesus Christ came eating and drinking and people said he was gluttonous and a winebibber. I don't care what people say. But most have been very quiet. thanks. and really, that's the smart thing to do, if you don't have anything good to say.

When Jesus heard that John had been beheaded, he went off to be alone to pray. But the people followed him. So he feed them, the fishes and loaves. When he finally was able to bare his heart, John being dead and his own death soon to follow, he asked his disciples who the people say he was. John the Baptist or Elijah. Speaks well of both men.

III. OTHER PROPHETS - MOSES AND ISAIAH

The disciples also said people said Jesus Christ was other prophets.

The Two Witnesses. Get a kick out of the ignorant who say they could be women. They are called prophetes in Revelation 11:10 - males. Prophetis is used for female prophets.

The two witnesses prophesy 1260 days. The time of the Tribulation. Too late to turn hearts of the churches of God back to God the Father so those people can go to the Place of Safety for further training.

Most of the prophets are in the Old Testament. "And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face..."

In Deuteronomy 4 Moses wrote that the Israelites would be scattered among the nations and left few in number if they disobeyed God. The tribulation is mentioned and the latter days. But even then if they seek God, God will not forsake them.

"O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep ALL my commandments ALWAYS, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!" "For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, ABOVE ALL people that are upon the face of the earth." "And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, WHICH THOU KNOWEST, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee."

"AND IT SHALL BE, IF THOU DO AT ALL FORGET THE LORD THY GOD, AND WALK AFTER OTHER GODS, AND SERVE THEM, AND WORSHIP THEM, I TESTIFY AGAINST YOU THIS DAY THAT YE SHALL SURELY PERISH."

"...and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise." All the nations went to their healing gods thru their priest/doctors. Still do today. And so do all the Israelites!

God's command in Deuteronomy 13 was to utterly destroy any Israelite city that went after other gods. even the cattle. the spoils of that city were burnt up. the city would be left in a heap not to be rebuilt again!

"I AM THE LORD THAT HEALETH THEE." Exodus 15:26.

"O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!" VISION! i once took a course in college, German Silent Film. there was one movie i'll never forget. a man and his wife invite another man for dinner (he should have brought along a date). of course the invited man flirted and the married man was jealous. so jealous that he killed the other man! but that's not really what happened! it seemed to happen TO SHOW YOU HOW YOU CAN END UP! when that realization came to the three you should have seen the difference in the way they acted! it would be easy for God to let us see in a vision how we would personally end up by the way we are going. but he doesn't. he tells us the general ending and WE HAVE TO HAVE THE VISION!

"See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and i make alive; I wound, and I HEAL: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand."

ISAIAH

"Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord." Chapter One. "Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?" Chapter Two. Isaiah 40:15 - the nations are as a drop of a bucket, how much less, doctors. Doctors are just men. They are not true christians, never have been. They are agents of the devil. Do you really think Luke was handing out drugs while his boss Paul was sending out healing cloths? He quit that profession like our Dr. McCarthy (who went on to lead the South African Work).

The day of the Lord is coming when He shakes the earth terribly and those idols, the works of their own hands, like medical technology, will be tossed.

"...but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of His hands. Therefore my people are gone into CAPTIVITY, because they have no knowledge..." Isaiah 5.

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil." Woe unto you who call doctors good! Doctors' best is trauma but that only happens 5% of the time!

'IT SHALL NOT STAND." Isaiah 7:1. Remember first President Bush saying that about the evil Sadaam of Iraq taking Kuwait? This world and its doctors shall not stand!

"Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces..." But "I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him." Isaiah 8.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them [DOCTORS]; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, IN TRUTH." Isaiah 10.

"They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." Isaiah 11. NO ABORTIONS, NO DRUGS, NO SURGERY.

And since this is my book I will put in 2 verses about FUTURE SLAVERY! "For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall POSSESS THEM in the land of the Lord FOR SERVANTS AND HANDMAIDS: and THEY SHALL TAKE THEM CAPTIVES, WHOSE CAPTIVES THEY WERE; and they shall RULE OVER their oppressors." Isaiah 14.

SELA - PETRA. "...hide the outcasts... Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab..." Yes I still believe that Petra is the Place of Safety! Isaiah 16.

And yes, there is even hope for Assyria. "In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance."

Unless we forget what some prophets had to do, ..."my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years..." Isaiah 20.

A little something about what the Arabs will do for us at Petra. "The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled. For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war." Isaiah 21.

As you can see, Isaiah is a favorite book of mine just behind the Psalms. Now David is not called a prophet but he has much prophecy in his songs and much HOPE like the next scripture in Isaiah.

"And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God: we have WAITED for him, and he will save us..." Isaiah 24:7-9.

Another. "Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the TRUTH may enter in. Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he TRUSTETH in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is THE ROCK OF AGES [in the margin, what it is in Hebrew]:" Isaiah 26: 2-4.

Another reference to Petra. "Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast." Isaiah 26:20. If I remember correctly Dr. Hoeh used to use "as it were." And he wrote a wonderful article on Petra.

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem." Isaiah 27:13.

AND OUR EMBLEM. "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion, and the fatling together: and a little child shall lead them." Isaiah 11:6.

A scripture for US. "Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts." For the rest. "But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; her a little, and there a little; THAT THEY MIGHT GO, AND FALL BACKWARD, AND BE BROKEN, AND SNARED, AND TAKEN." Isaiah 28: 9 and 13.

And yet WE have made a covenant with DEATH. Verse 18. "And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell SHALL NOT STAND; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it." The Church has made a covenant with doctors and the devil. It must repent.

"Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me: and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: That walk to go down into Egypt,...and to trust in the shadow of Egypt...THE EGYPTIANS SHALL HELP IN VAIN, and to no purpose: THEREFORE HAVE I CRIED CONCERNING THIS, THEIR STRENGTH IS TO SIT STILL." Isaiah 30: 1, 2 and 7. AND PATIENTLY WAIT FOR GOD TO WORK!

"Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:" Verse 10. Nope!

"...blessed are all they that wait for him." Verse 18. "For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning and rest shall ye be saved: in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not." Verse 15.

"The vile person shall be no more called liberal..." Isaiah 32:5. Not waiting for the kingdom to do this, i will not call democrats liberals!

One for the shepherds. "Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou was not spoiled: and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee!" Isaiah 33:1. It wasn't the sheep's fault that the church turned to doctors. "Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent?" Isaiah 42:19.

The Day of the Lord, a year. "For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion." Isaiah 34:8.

Isaiah was there when God smote the Germans, 185,000. "and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses." I like that verse! Isaiah 37:36. I like what God did to the Assyrians! And will do again!

He was there when King Hezekiah was healed by GOD! Isaiah 38. and it wasn't the figs. it was the obedience of Hezekiah to the words of Isaiah, like Naaman's obedience to the words of Elisha. Naaman didn't drink the Jordan as medicine! The sun also went backwards ten degrees.

AND THE WELL-KNOWN CHAPTER 40. "The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God." Also in Chapter 40. Verse 31. "But they that WAIT upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

CHAPTER 53. Verse 4 and 5. "Surely he hath borne our sicknesses, and carried our sorrows:..But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; AND WITH HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED." Doctors not mentioned.

"...THY SEED SHALL INHERIT THE GENTILES..." Isaiah 54:2.

HOPE. "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper: and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the HERITAGE of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord." Verse 17.

Another for the shepherds. "His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber." There is more. Isaiah 56: 10, 11.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURES. AND THIS JUST HASN'T BEEN DONE TO DOCTORS! "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins." Isaiah 58:1.

"And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee...For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish...The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feed....Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles." Isaiah 60: 10, 12, 14, 16.

"And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the ALIEN shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves." Isaiah 61: 5,6. I REALLY LIKE THIS ONE! A good one to show hispanics.

"The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou has laboured:" Isaiah 62:8.

Here is one that I especially identify with. "Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your BRETHREN that hated you, that cast you out for my names's sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to YOUR joy, and they shall be ashamed." Isaiah 66:5.

IV. OTHER PROPHETS - JEREMIAH, EZEKIEL and the LAST THIRTEEN

Jeremiah was the one who spoke most about prophets. False Prophets!

"Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned." Jeremiah 2: 35. "Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours." Jeremiah 5:19.

"Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the OLD PATHS, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein." Jeremiah 6:16.

"Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, are these." and how many temples of the Lord (?) are out there calling themselves churches of God? "Will ye ...walk after other gods whom ye know not; And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?" Jeremiah 7: 9,10.

"Learn not the way of the heathen." Jeremiah 10:2. The heathen went to doctors for healing. Verse 21. "For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and ALL THEIR FLOCKS SHALL BE SCATTERED."

"Thus saith the Lord: Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord." Jeremiah 17:5.

"But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings." Jeremiah 23:22. Verses 30 and 31. "Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith."

"Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it." Jeremiah 30:7.

"...for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn." Jeremiah 31:9.

"Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth."

"Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming LIBERTY, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a LIBERTY for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth." Jeremiah 34:17. So much for democracy.

"My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray..." Jeremiah 50:6.

EZEKIEL. "And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people,neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord God." Ezekiel 13:9.

"As I live, saith the Lord God. I will not be enquired of by you." Ezekiel 20:3. and that's the way i feel.

"Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed feed the flocks?...The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken..." Ezekiel 34:2,4.

Verse 10. "Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them. For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out."

Verse 19. "And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet." Verse 21. "Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the DISEASED with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad;"

THE LAST 13.

70 WEEKS PROPHECY. "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy." The end of the 70 weeks is Jesus Christ's return.

Now Verse 27. "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,..." He caused the sacrifice to cease when he became the sacrifice. He spent the first 3 1/2 days (years) with his disciples and he will spend the last 3 1/2 days (years) with his disciples at the Place of Safety!

HOSEA 4:6. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because THOU hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject THEE, that THOU shalt be no PRIEST to me: seeing THOU hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." Herbert W. Armstrong made a big mistake with this verse. He blamed the people. God blames HIM! He forgot the healer and changed healing, letting the doctors in in his 2nd Healing Booklet! He blew it! Not the sheep! But God never always forgets His children. He will not leave us in the lurch. He will send us a prophet to set things straight. ELIJAH III!

Amos 3: 3. "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" So i haven't walked with any of the churches of God.

ZEPHANIAH 2: 1-3. "GATHER yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired: Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord's anger come upon you. Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: IT MAY BE YE SHALL BE HID IN THE DAY OF THE LORD'S ANGER."

HAGGAI 1:9. "Ye looked for much, and, lo it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the Lord of hosts. BECAUSE OF MINE HOUSE THAT IS WASTE, and ye run every man unto his own house."

ZECHARIAH 1:3. "Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts."

"These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth." Zechariah 4:14. Rev. 11:4.

MALACHI

"O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? YE OFFER POLLUTED BREAD UPON MINE ALTAR..." Malachi 1: 6,7. "And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if you offer the lame and sick, is it not evil?" Verse 8. You offer the unleavened bread at Passover with maggots and feces in it from Baalzebub, Lord of Healing. What you really are sacrificing are the SHEEP!

"But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted: and the fruit thereof, even his MEAT, is contemptible. Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the Lord of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the Lord." You don't believe the sacrifice of Jesus Christ's body is enough for healing. You have to add doctors. And what weariness it was at all the ministerial meetings down thru the years as GTA said, there was never a time when doctors were not discussed. So you made it easy. You can go to them!

"BEHOLD, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me...and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness." Malachi 3: 1 and 3.

"...in that day when I make up my jewels: and I will spare them..." Verse 17.

MALACHI 4: 5,6. "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the father to the children, and the heart of the children to the father, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."

V. KING DAVID'S PSALMS

This will be a longer chapter. David meditated on God's Laws and I've meditated on the Psalms. Just look at his first verse. "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly..." In Hebrew blessing is esher - happy, straight, level, balanced. You wouldn't think a man all alone because the rest of the world is wrong would be balanced, happy, straight, level. But God says thru David that that man would be. But not only that. He would also be smarter than his teachers and the ancients because he meditates on God's Laws!

This would hold true if you didn't walk with those who have left God on a major doctrine like healing. Also birthdays and makeup. I should change my middle name to Esher. Harold Esher Reimann. Ungodly in Hebrew is rasha, WRONG. Sinners in Hebrew is chata - miss the mark. Both words fit the churches of God. And my life has been very peaceful and rewarding for having rejected them.

I've looked up esher. Psa. 32:1 - blessed if sin forgiven. But the churches of God's sins have not been forgiven. They think they are not sinning by going to doctors. Psa. 94:13. Blessed is the man whom God chastens. Hasn't happened yet for the churches of God. Will though. Psa. 112:7. Blessed is the man whose heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. Prov. 8:34. Blessed is the man who hears, watches and waits. Isa. 30:18. Blessed are they who wait for God.

"Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them MEAT IN DUE SEASON?" That's what I'm giving you right now! "Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing." Matt. 24:44,45.

Luke 11:28. Blessed are they who hear the word of God and keep it. Rev. 16:15. Blessed is he who watches and keeps his garments.

Chapter Two is a prophecy about the kings of the earth fighting God. It also reminds me of those who say they are Armstrong Cult SURVIVORS! Herbert Armstrong had the TRUTH! And those survivors did not reject HWA, they rejected God and are fighting Him, trying to throw off His bands and cords. God laughs at them and will have them in derision! I laugh at them too. Remember what God said to Samuel, they haven't reject you, they have rejected ME!

In Chapter 3 David says many trouble him. One reason, too many wives. Children fighting for the throne.

Chapter 4. David said he had restful, peaceful sleep because he trusted God to protect him. Don't have to worry about the US Army, whether it will have its finances cut back drastically. No worries about Iran. Germany. So what if the country goes bust. What, me worry?

"Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. Psa. 5:8. I asked God not to let me be confused. I haven't been. But the churches of God have.

A personal verse, Psa. 7:6. "...awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded. So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high."

PSALM 11. "In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? THE LORD IS IN HIS HOLY TEMPLE..." I remember Stan Rader saying during the receivership, "God is on His throne!"

For leftists. Psa. 14:1, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."

"Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the TRUTH in his heart." Psa. 15:1,2. Verse 4 - also "He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not." I told the church Mr. Tkach's new understanding was heresy. I was fired from the best job that i ever had (but i look forward to a much better job), archivist of the church, and have not had such a job in 24 years! BUT I HAVE NOT CHANGED!

"Keep me as the apple of the eye..." Psa. 17:8. "For I have kept the ways of the Lord, AND HAVE NOT WICKEDLY DEPARTED FROM MY GOD." Psa. 18:21.

I LOVE HOW DAVID CRUSHED HIS ENEMIES! Psa. 18:34,37,38,41-44. "He teacheth my hands to war...I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed. I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet....They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not. Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets. Thou has delivered me from the strivings of the people: and thou hast made me head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me. As soon as they here of me, they shall obey me..." A bit different from the way the US treats their enemies. Helped rebuild Germany and Japan. Were allies of communist Russia and helped it. Giving the country away to our enemies, the blacks and mexicans.

PSALM 23. "THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD: I SHALL NOT WANT..."Thou preparest a table before me IN THE PRESENCE OF MINE ENEMIES: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over." I'm waiting for that table.

"WAIT ON THE LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord." Psa. 27:14. I wonder how many churches of God there would have been if the ministers who started them had waited on God?

Psalm 33:22. "Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee."

Psalm 34:19. "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all."

Psalm 35:23. "STIR UP THYSELF, AND AWAKE TO MY JUDGMENT, EVEN UNTO MY CAUSE, MY GOD, AND MY LORD."

PSALM 37. ONE OF MY FAVORITES. God equates waiting on God with meekness. Both inherit the earth. Verse 19 - "They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied." Verse 31 - "The law of his God is in his heart: none of his steps shall slide."

Psa. 40:4. "Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, NOR SUCH AS TURN ASIDE TO LIES." The churches of God have turned aside to the lie that going to doctors is OK.

Psa. 41:1. "Blessed is he that considereth the poor [margin, the weak or SICK]: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble."

Psa. 60:1. "O God, thou has cast us off, thou hast SCATTERED us, thou has been displeased: O TURN THYSELF TO US AGAIN." Send Elijah III!

Psa. 69:8,9. "I AM BECOME A STRANGER UNTO MY BRETHREN, and an alien unto my mother's children. For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up: and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me."

Psa. 71:1. "In thee, O Lord do I put my trust: LET ME NEVER BE PUT TO CONFUSION."

Psa. 73:27. "...thou hast destroyed all them that go A WHORING from thee."

Psa. 78:41. "YEA, THEY TURNED BACK AND TEMPTED GOD, AND LIMITED THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL." This was given as a sermonette by HWA's barber who was also head of the Transportation Department at AC Pasadena. He and his wife were also card players with us and another couple. Can't remember his name. Yes, we have turned backed to doctors and limited God! God hasn't been able to do a work thru the churches of God. I went to him in transportation and told him we should go back to what we first believed about doctors. That it was idolatry to go to them. I think it might have gotten back to HWA because Aaron Dean in a sermon said that HWA wanted Mr. Tkach to take care of healing because some wanted to go back. Course he could have surely gotten that thru my paper, Liberalism and the Healing Booklets, which was sitting on Mr. Neff's desk.

Psa. 86:17. A personal psalm. "Show me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me."

Psa. 92:14. For old righteous folks. "They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing."

Psa, 101:3. "...I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me."

Psa. 102:6,7. A personal psalm. "I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert. I watch, and am as a sparrow ALONE upon the house top."

Psa. 103:3. "WHO FORGIVETH ALL THINE INIQUITIES; WHO HEALETH ALL THY DISEASES...."

Psa. 105:19. About Joseph. "Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him." I think of my 24-year trial being alone on the earth.

Psa. 106:35-41. "But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. And they served their idols which were a snare unto them. Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto DEVILS, And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance. And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them." But this time He will have mercy and send Elijah III to set things straight and turn the hearts of His people back to the Father.

Psa. 119:97-100. "O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts."

Psa. 119:141. "I am small and despised: yet do not i forget thy precepts." Personal Psalm.

Psa. 119:165. "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." Personal Psalm.

Psa. 127:1. "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain."

Psa. 133:1. "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in UNITY!"

Psa. 139:14. "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." And you don't know the half of it if you haven't fasted for healing!

Psa. 139:22. "I HATE THEM WITH PERFECT HATRED: I count them mine enemies." Hitler and the Germans during WWII. Hirohito and the Japanese. The enemies you love are personal enemies.

Psa. 143:5. "I remember the days of old: I meditate on all thy works..."

Psa. 146:3. "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help."

Psa. 149:7-9. "To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people: To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron: To execute upon them the judgment written: THIS HONOUR HAVE ALL HIS SAINTS. Praise ye the Lord."

VI. MY RESUME' FOR PROPHET - THE MENTAL WARD

STANDING BEFORE GOD, ALONE. That's what a prophet does! The summer of '63 I was playing a game of 8-ball with a fellow soldier in the barracks at Fort Bliss, Texas (El Paso). I found out later that he was an Anglophile, I had a German last name. Out of nowhere he said Germany was to give us trouble again! Got my attention. I asked him where he got his info and he said Herbert W. Armstrong, the World Tomorrow radio broadcast and the Plain Truth magazine.

We started listening to the program on XELO, Juarez, Mexico, a very powerful station that reached a good portion of the US although I was just next door. One evening after not listening that long, the soldier said, "There he goes again, asking for money." I thought to myself, if you believe what he says because it's in the Bible, you should believe what he says about tithing. We parted ways but I kept listening and took notes! Got all the booklets I heard advertised. Took the Bible Correspondence Course. The TRUTH had found me!

So this is the story that I have told on the Night to be Much Observed about how I started my way out of Egypt, out of sin. I had a big problem with the Sabbath. Was in an army band and we led some large parades on Saturdays. Talked to a chaplain. He said I was in midstream and would end up coming back to his side. Wouldn't give me the time off on the Sabbath. Said I was all alone. Not even a church in the area. And guess what I did? Stuck my tail between my legs and worked the Sabbath.

But it wasn't long before I was out of the army. I put an application in for Ambassador College. Then I cancelled it! Still had one foot in the world. Didn't think I would be accepted. AC only accepted 1 in 7 at the time. Then I went back into the army, knowing it was wrong! I thought God would send me to Viet Nam for that. But God is merciful. A lot of bandsmen from both bands at Ft. Bliss were sent to Viet Nam during the couple of months that I was out. When I came back in I could stay at Bliss for a year and then be sent elsewhere. Before the year was up I put in for Germany and was blessed with Italy instead.

Now a big fish didn't swallow me for running from the truth of God. I wasn't in the Navy. But I knew I had to finally get off the fence. I picked a very wrong time to do it. The band was sent across Italy to Camp Darby at Livorno. We were put up in a nice HOTEL instead of the barracks. The band was supposed to play on a Saturday night but we were driving there on the Sabbath. I did my usual thing. Didn't say anything to anybody beforehand, just didn't get on the bus. So all the troops were waiting for me on the bus. Finally the 1st Sergeant, a very nice black man, the same one I joked with after the mental ward experience when he joked with me about being in a mental ward and I joked back telling him to remember I was the only one in the band PROVEN SANE, came to my room and said this would not do. The band was at a resort area, in a hotel for the first time. Don't make us go back to the barracks. Well it worked, tail between the legs again. But not long after that I took a long Leave to keep my first Feast of Tabernacles.

We were on maneuvers in the field when the first holy day came, the Feast of Trumpets. I had my own tent with the typewriter, was the clerk for the band. Told myself I would not do any work. And I was not told by anyone to do any work. The Warrant Officer in charge of the band did visit me once. Phew, made it through. But he asked me later to drive one of the trucks carrying troops back to base (on a Friday night). I said no thanks and he didn't force me. I didn't come for Saturday morning office work before my Leave started. Thought I would put it on the line. My assistant did come back where I had my barracks bed and ask me a question about the morning report. I was not going to work on the Sabbath just before going to the Feast. Once more, I made it through.

The closest church was in Geneva, Switzerland. Colin Wilkins was the minister. Talked to him and he was kind enough to make reservations for me at Morcambe, England for the feast. The whole feast, board and room, for only $60 or so! Then I attended my first service, THE DAY OF ATONEMENT! Didn't know I shouldn't be drinking water and didn't even get the hint when people asked me if I was thirsty. Mr. Wilkins had a pretty, young Swiss Miss named Brigette Gross translate for me cause the sermon was in French. But I finally got the message before she translated it that there is nothing that goes in our mouths during the Day of Atonement! A bit of a shock, no?

Met a young couple, the husband taught at Imperial Schools in Pasadena, the wife had parents in Geneva too, her father was working for the State Department in Brazil. They took Brigette and me out to eat at a very nice restaurant after Atonement and paid for it. Wow!

On to England stopping at Bricket Wood to see the college. Then up to Morecambe on the Irish Sea not far from Scotland. Cold, rainy and yet the church men were playing soccer out in the mud. I helped in the kitchen washing silverware. The Brits had another term for it. Didn't interact with AC students and didn't even go to the student show which i regret. Robin Jones gave a sermon against doctors. Will never forget it. This was 1967 and the church was distancing itself from the idolatry of going to doctors. The church in England must have been more conservative.

I counseled for baptism with John Portune. He said I was still too willing to compromise and should go back to base and face the music. I did. I didn't go into work on the Sabbath when I got back. The Warrant Officer, a tall man, Church of Christ elder who made one of our older soldiers CRY when he chewed him out, gave me a good talking to the next Monday. Remember him looking at my Bible and seeing all the underlining, questioned it? Thought that was unusual. So he sent me to the base psychiatrist.

The psychiatrist had me write an autobiography. I wrote 4 pages, both sides, and he told me to stop. Hadn't even gotten to the part about HWA and the church. He looked it over quickly and then asked me what i thought about sending me to a mental ward in an army hospital in Landstuhl, West Germany, for testing and evaluation. I told him he had the power to send me wherever he wanted to regardless about how I felt. So off I went but not before we had the biggest inspection of the year, the inspection from NATO HQS. And I played a big part.

I was the drum major. I led the band. So they inspected us on the Parade Field, led by someone thought of as a latent schizophrenic (looked at my records on the train to Germany - wasn't supposed to). They inspected the office. I was the clerk. They listened to the band, I was 1st Chair Clarinetist. The dance band - baritone sax player. Even the choir in which I had a solo.

We passed the inspection. Thought we did well. Now for my 3-week vacation although when it first started I didn't think it would be a vacation. I visualized being forced to take drugs and given electric shock treatments all the while saying, I WILL NOT WORK ON THE SABBATH! When I was at AC and didn't come up with a subject for a speech in Speech Club, I would give one on my mental ward experiences. Had them in the palm of my hands. I remember one speech titled, "The Mountain Was A Molehill."

The first thing they do at the mental ward is take EVERYTHING from you, even your clothes. No razor for sure. They did let me have my Bible and Correspondence Course. I had fallen behind in the course and you can bet I finished it in a hurry at the mental ward.

I met another GI while we were waiting to be taken care of. We were alone in the room together. He was very angry and didn't speak. I told him to lighten up, go along with the program as best you can, DON'T ACT CRAZY! He took my advice and got out before me.

So into the ward with all the nuts. CUCKOO'S NEST! They had a patient government led by a CORPORAL! The patients included OFFICERS! I thought this a bit strange. The little corporal took me around and introduced me to ALL the patients. Whoopee! One asked me if I had the Lord. I said I did.

Wouldn't you know the very next day was the Sabbath. They all took off from the ward for a half-day program. I stayed behind. Do you realize what I was doing? First I disobeyed an order to work on the Sabbath in the ARMY. Now I was disobeying the MENTAL WARD with being INSTITUTIONALIZED as a final result!

Nobody said anything for a while. Then I was told to meet my psychiatrist. HE WAS JEWISH! Although an atheist, we did have a common bond and I got Sabbaths off but would have to go along with the others although I could sit by myself and study the Bible during this time. Ah, paid to study the Bible! The mountain was beginning to become a molehill.

I had a session with a whipper snapper social worker just out of college. He was good at digging for dirt, problems, I mean. A bit uncomfortable. But he was on to something, even went through the supper hour. At the end he asked if he could help, if the mental ward could help me. I said no, God is my help. After that he would not play ping pong with me. He did tell me that they had heard of HWA. Probably had someone there who kept the Sabbath before. I didn't inquire.

Some of the nuts. There were a couple of really bad cases. didn't talk, slid along the floor, arms down, back of hands forward, like zombies. One was sitting across from me when we were in crafts. Everything was designed at the ward to bring people out of themselves, some were so withdrawn. Well I saw this guy looking at his leather cutting tool, a little wooden stick with a razor at the end. Before he had only said, "I just want to go home." But now he said, "I don't want to hurt nobody!"

I had had one year of psychology in college. I felt this guy had a persecution complex. Told myself that if he went for the tool, I would beat him to it. Told him nobody wanted to hurt him. No problema.

Then the next day or so we had our group meeting with our psychiatrist. He usually had his legs crossed with one arm on the top leg, chin in hand. One soldier from my base was speaking loudly and angrily and said, "When I get back to base I'm going to kill that colonel who sent me here." The little guy who stared at the razor knife jumped up and SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER. Just like the movies. The doc got his chin off his hand and knee. I raised my hand, told him the story and said I thought this guy had a persecution complex. You know the doc talked to this guy afterwards and the patient began to be normal! I was promoted from a #3, with no freedom of the hospital, to a #2 with a little more freedom.

We had a major from NATO HQS who had the most evil look I ever saw. I was coming back from supper and went by a room just outside the ward. It had nothing in it except this guy sitting on the floor and a corpsman watching him. The corpsman asked me if I would get supper for the guy. It was a long way to the mess hall but I did it. When I got back he asked ME to stand at the door and watch him for a minute. This evil-looking basturd waved me in. I pushed the tray towards him with my foot and gave him the hardest look I could muster. No problema.

That evening I was in my bed which was the first bay area next to the exit door, always locked. Had my face towards the wall away from the door when I thought I heard something. Listened for a little bit then turned around to see the corpsman and this NATO major locked in an embrace with the major trying to get out of the door. The corpsman then gave him an uppercut to the stomach that took him off the floor and pinned him when he landed. Later heard that the NATO major had socked his psychiatrist earlier that evening after I had given him food.

We had a program named Psycho Drama. You were put in a situation with others and then acted it out spontaneously. I was to be a friend of a drunk who was taking him home, wife and daughter met us at the door. We had a woman's wing of the nut house. Only got together with the other half for Psycho Drama. The two women proceeded to rail against me. I felt as if this was really happening! The next time the little pregnant lady heading up this acting job asked me to play I asked her if I could play the guitar and sing a song. No problema. That's what I did.

But one day the NATO major came to Psycho Drama with his friend the birdman. He had a sheet around him and gave us a side profile saying he was Caesar and was taking over Psycho Drama. The birdman was handing out birds. I got one. Just pretend. The night before when the birdman entered our fraternity he had been howling like a crazy monkey in his room and I was asked to help him down the stairs. I wondered how close I was to a demon. But no problema.

We had a top sergeant, Sergeant Major, who I heard behind me saying to an Hawaiian soldier, who he chummed with, that he wasn't happy unless he was killing somebody! One day in crafts I was making a belt and put on the words "Content In All Things," my motto at the ward. The Sergeant Major came over and looked at the belt for a while, then asked me what CONtent in all things meant. I told him it was conTENT in all things.

His Hawaiian friend was good at the punching bag. We had a time for physical activity. I watched how he did it and became so proficient that the corpsman told me to lighten up on the bag cause I was making too much noise.

Then there was the Captain who was always pacing back and forth, not saying anything. The little corporal was leaving and we were going to elect a new patient leader. So this black guy gets up and nominates me right off the bat. I had to think fast. Christmas was coming up and I wanted no part of it. So I nominated the Captain and told the rest I was leaving soon and they would have to vote again. Besides an officer should lead the men. He was elected! And I did get out of there before Christmas. It was a very merry Christmas.

In the second week I finally got to the business at hand, evaluation and testing. I took this memory test where I was given 10 geometric designs to look at. Could take as long as I wanted so I took a long time. Then he let me see them one more time, a short time each. Then I was to draw the designs from memory. I wanted to get them all. Got to 8 and then made the testing guy wait. We waited and waited. Got the 9th one. Prayed about the 10th. Waited and waited. The guy asked me if I was through. I said no. Finally got the 10th. Maybe they thought I was crazy to get all of them!

There was an ink-blot test. Saw a lot of blood, but didn't tell them. Maybe that was a crazy sign. Saw this cat with the top of the head missing, just the whiskers. Told them it was Sylvester. When I was about to leave and my psychiatrist asked me if I had any questions I asked about the cat. He said I thought there where men in command who didn't have heads. Figured he got that because I disobeyed orders and was sent to the mental ward. Actually I did not have those thoughts. I did very well taking orders from those above me. No problema.

Oh, I had fasted for 5 days, just water, before I was sent to Germany. Not for any particular reason. Lost quite a bit of weight. That went on my psychiatrist's report. So I played with them and ate like a horse and put the weight back on in one week.

At the end of the 2nd week I had an unusual request. I asked to go to Frankfort and attend a church service. My psychiatrist said no unless my test results came back. This was on Friday morning. That afternoon the sergeant in charge asked me what time I wanted my pass to begin. So I was free for the weekend. I stayed at a very nice hotel, the Frankfurter Hof, where services were held but couldn't find where they were holding them. Then I listened at the door and heard the service. Waited for them to stop. They had a break for lunch and I talked to John Carlson who introduced me to Mr. Schnee. Boy did he grill me. Thought HE was Gestapo. He must of seen the look on my face because he said he had to question me because they had to be careful in Germany!

During the afternoon service, Ray Crandall did the translating, a woman got up and walked directly to Mr. Schnee. He told her something quite loudly and then pointed to the door. She went to the door, looked around at us with a look I cannot describe, and left. No translation from Mr. Crandall. Will never forget it.

It could have gone differently at the ward. I remember an AC student who was jailed for 6 months for refusing to work on the Sabbath. He was a marine. But still, it was definitely a trial not many have.

VII. RESUME' CONTINUED - FASTING FOR HEALTH AND HEALING

I actually found out about God's physical truth before His spiritual truth. The summer of '62 I came across a Reader's Digest article (June I believe) which said fasting was the best way to lose weight. So I tried 4 days worth and ran to the mess hall for lunch. I was on a health kick. Ran, exercised, had definition in my stomach for the first and only time in my life. This was in Huntsville, Alabama at Redstone Arsenal. Listened to the big Saturn 5 booster rocket to be used for the moon launch tested there at the time

Along the way somewhere I found you could fast for sickness. One time as an AC student I developed walking pneumonia. Didn't go to a doctor. Remember we were running races in PE, I had won one in the army, but this time I was coughing up blood and Coach Sneider told me to go easy. Fasted 3 days and it took care of the worst of it. Later my wife and I both had it. Did the same thing. Automatic. Worked.

Then in '82 I was working in Security at Parsons, an International Engineering Firm, and filled a stool with blood coming from the front rather than the back. I fasted 2 10-day periods with a week of eating in between. And then a 12-day period. My brother-in-law got me Shelton's book on fasting, "FASTING CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE," and I'm glad I got to read it cause I had a rough time. I vomited for 3 days. This didn't happen that often. Shelton said to grin and bear it in his book. I got a severe case of pneumonia during the fast and gave it to one of the guards at work. Got thru that. Then an attack of appendicitis. Couldn't sleep well during the last 12-day stint. So I slept on my wife's side of the bed, her advice, and that did the trick. Didn't drink water for about 5 days, just a few ice crystals. Told myself I wouldn't eat again until the hurting stopped. You really should fast until you reach the end of your reserves, 40 days, like Jesus did. I did it wrong and suffered thru it.

During the very beginning of the last fasting period I was hurting so badly I couldn't walk, right side. I crawled to the bathroom and put my hands on the sink and prayed to God to stop the pain. After a while it stopped. But a nurse told me later that your appendix quits hurting after it BURSTS. I had read of a man having a burst appendix and living through it by FASTING! He was watched by Dr. Bieler in a hospital. In Bieler's book, Food Is Your Best Medicine. Didn't drink water for 5 days. His body encapsulated the poisons from the appendix, perforated his large intestine and passed it out thru the rectum. My wife wanted me to take an enema. I consented. I only passed 3 or 4 perfectly round small, white balls of something. Laura reached in the stool and took one out and squeezed it. Gritty, metallic substance inside. Probably heavy metals from years of living. Never had them analyzed. After 10 days the lesser pain stopped. I fasted 2 more days just to make sure it wouldn't come back. Should have fasted to my reserves BUT HAVEN'T DONE IT YET.

A burst appendix is not a death sentence if you don't go to doctors! How many parents have gone through that in the church WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF FASTING!

HWA at the beginning of his ministry before he was ordained did put a lot of people on fasts for healing. "I learned quite a little about fasting as a means of eliminating toxins and poisons from the body...Many on whom I called were, by fasting followed by right diet, relieved of rheumatism, constipation, colds, and many other chronic ailments or diseases....Of course most doctors do not recommend fasting....Actually, if people would fast more, as animals do by instinct when sick, and eat more carefully, it might just be that the doctors would starve, not the patients!" page 408, Volume One, his Autobiography.

"What I learned during this year of study and lecturing on sickness and disease was actually an IMPORTANT PART OF THE PREPARATION GOD WAS TAKING ME THROUGH FOR THIS MINISTRY." page 409.

But HWA made a big mistake later in fasting. He went on a 30-day orange juice fast and leached the calcium from his bones ending up worse at the end of the fast than at the beginning. Animals don't drink juices when they fast. Too bad he and Herbert Shelton, the one who knew the most about fasting in the USA, didn't get together. If they had, HWA might have continued with fasting and would have taught the church to fast. But the orange juice fast in the early 60's dissuaded him from fasting although his fasting when Loma was dying in 1967 did give him much better health. At one time he told the brethren to FAST and be anointed for healing when they were sick!

So I've taken up where he left off in both fasting and not going to doctors! That should be worth something on my resume' for prophet!

You won't find many books on fasting for healing. The doctors in this country control a lot! I have a fasting library though. Found a 7th Day Adventist publishing house in Mokelumne Hill, California. Ordered some books from them. Even went there when attending the Feast in Sacramento and got a very good book on vaccination called "The Poisoned Needle" by Eleanora McBean. A librarian friend at AC told me that this book was the most requested book from other libraries for inter-library loans. You also won't find many books on medical science. And why should you, they have made so many errors down thru history!

You can try Amazon.com though. The two best books on fasting for health and healing were written by Herbert M. Shelton and Paul Bragg. Shelton put 50,000 people on fasts. So did Bragg. Shelton's fasts were more difficult though. He dealt with healing sicknesses and went to jail for it cause the docs said he was practicing medicine without a license. Now isn't that a hell of a note! His book, " Fasting Can Save Your Life." I once was listening to Radio Moscow during the Cold War and they were talking about FASTING AND HERBERT SHELTON!

Bragg was the faster to the stars. He or his daughter-in-law even fasted Clint Eastwood. He dealt with health only, fasting to keep in good health. Made more money at it. His book, "the miracle of FASTING." I went to a lecture by his daughter-in-law, Patricia Bragg, at the Ambassador Hotel. Was going to ask her a question after the talk but she was busy with others. Finally, I turned and started walking away and all of a sudden felt someone take my arm. It was Patricia. Had a little talk and walked down to take a look at the old Coconut Grove but it was dark inside. Went there once as an AC student, thanks to Mr. Bauer our band director, while it was still in business.

The first book on fasting that I read was by a PSYCHIATRIST named Allan Cott called "FASTING: THE ULTIMATE DIET." Great little starter book. Another good book was by muckraker Upton Sinclair. Teddy Roosevelt called these crusading journalists that name. Sinclair wrote "The Jungle" about the meat-packing industry. He was the most famous muckraker. Also ran for governor of California but lost. Wrote upteen novels but his best book was called "The Fasting Cure." Around 1910 he wrote about fasting in Cosmopolitan that really made WAVES!

The man who really started an interest in fasting and the health movement was Bernarr MacFadden. Have his little book, "Fasting for Health." Doctors were really worried about this guy and his movement. They even started a magazine called, Hygeia, whose editor was Dr. Fishbein, former head of the AMA (and the AMA was founded to get rid of all doctors' competition), just to get rid of MacFadden's influence. And they did a good job. MacFadden was instrumental though in teaching Shelton and Bragg, and Upton Sinclair was on the board of MacFadden's Physical Culture.

My mother-in-law had a blocked bowel. My wife was frantic. Velma was living with us and she had fasted for 2 weeks, just water. Still no bowel movement and she was ready to eat and die! What should we do? Well, I was prepared. Herbert Shelton had a disciple, Virginia Vetrano (now retired) who put people on fasts ON THE PHONE! We called her and she put Velma a fruit juice fast. Velma did not want water only, the best way. Well the fruit juice bothered her so she was put on vegetable juices. After two more weeks she had her movement! So juices can work. Takes longer.

Now what is very important is the fact that the Brazilian President-elect had a blocked bowel at the very same time and that one was in the news. He had 7 operations and died!

Later my mother-in-law had a sore that wouldn't heal on her lower leg. A red line of blood poison was at her knee. We had a minister friend living next door come over and anoint her. After the anointing he told her that if that red line kept going up, TO SEE A DOCTOR! After he left I TOLD HER that if that red line kept going up, TO FAST! She fasted. After 6 days it was GONE! Eh, but what do I know. Everyone is still taking their ministers' advice!

So let's go thru Alan Cott's book. First he covers his rear end with a note that nothing in the book is intended to constitute medical treatment or advice of any nature. He has very short chapters. In the first chapter he asks Why Fast? #10 is to let the body heal itself. I thought that doctors considered healing their turf! He says any person fasting should consult with his doctor and remain under the doctor's close medical supervision. WHAT BULL! Doctors are against fasting! They don't know a thing about it!

I gave this book to Iris to read years ago and recommended that doctors aren't consulted AT ALL! Also said that I thought I'd write a PEOPLE'S book on fasting. Cott said you gain a lot of time when you don't eat. He said you could write a book during that time.

Well Iris never did fast. Neither did my first wife who died of breast cancer several years after our divorce. So instead of fasting for polyps in her large intestine, Iris went to the doctors. The second time they checked her they punctured her large intestine and she had to have a very major operation giving her a new way to go to the potty, in a plastic bag attached to the front of her body. 5 months later they put everything back together so she could go normally but after a couple of years she had to have another operation for an incision hernia. She wanted to sue. I told her it was a big gamble to go to doctors, just like going to Vegas. Would you sue a casino if you lost?

Cott says to fast to lose weight the quickest and easiest way. It's also the BEST WAY. #6 is to fast to clean the body. #23 is to gain control of oneself. #27, to slow the aging process. I read that a fast to the reserves will take 10 years off your life. Something Rod Meredith and Richard Ames might want to think about.

In his 2nd chapter, "All About Fasting" he quotes the New England Journal of Medicine. "It can benefit any other-wise healthy person whose calories now have the upper hand in his life." There have even been a few doctors who put people on fasts for weight loss BUT NEVER FOR HEALING!

He mentions another psychiatrist who fasted 10,000 people with success in healing, even with mental problems. Dr. Yuri Nikolayev said fasts are essential for urban populations "constantly exposed to poisonous car exhausts, factory fumes, and other toxic air pollutants."

Cott says fasting is safe. It's not starving. Only if you continue after your reserves have ended. You can safely fast for a month or more. Hippocrates prescribed fasting to combat illness. He said everyone has a doctor in him. Also, "To eat when you are sick is to feed your sickness."

Cott said we take vacations and we should give our digestive system a rest too. Digesting food is the toughest job our body does. When you stop it, that body work goes to healing.

He mentions that Cloris Leachman (remember her on Dancing with the Stars in her 80s?) said, "Fasting is simply wonderful. It can do practically anything. It is a miracle cure. It cured my asthma."

In Chapter 4, When You Fast, he says animals fast when they are sick, nature's way. Actually GOD'S WAY! He said even dumb cows will keep their jaws clamped shut when cattle raisers or veterinarians try to force-feed them. Man is the only "animal" who persists in eating when sick even though he may have no appetite and food makes him NAUSEOUS! "Though our ailing bodies reject food, we are still urged by everyone [doctors especially] around us to "keep up your strength" or "build resistance"--keep eating, in other words."

AND FASTERS KNOW THAT DOCTORS HAVE KILLED MILLIONS BY FEEDING THEM WHEN THEY HAVE PNEUMONIA! Cott doesn't mention this. In fact you shouldn't be fed at all when you are sick, period! Over 100 years ago there was a doctor who used fasting, one of the first. Cott quotes him on page 119 and I have a book of his, "The Fasting Cure." Dr. Edward Dewey: "Although beginning my practice in fog-covered medical superstition, I came to the conclusion that only nature can practice medicine." "I contend that during illness feeding becomes a burden to the sick. It uses energy that otherwise would be used to fight the illness."

Cott said doctors continue to take a jaundiced view of fasting and quotes Alice Chase who wrote a book on fasting for health, "The medical profession, ruling over the health of mankind, appears willing to subject the sick to the trial of all sorts of drugs, surgery, electric shock, and other forms of treatment that are experimental, even heroic--and sometimes useless. They are unwilling to open their minds and eyes to the more kindly procedures such as rest of the body, mind and emotions"--which fasting provides. Dr. Mendelsohn would tell you that it's mostly useless not sometimes useless.

Page 15 and 16. "The orthodoxy opposes the treatment of the sick by non-medical practitioners. It has used its muscles to put many of these "healers" out of business. But under the supervision of naturopaths and hygienists many sick people have fasted and recovered from really serious ailments after their doctors had all but given up on them. Fasting and new eating habits were just what the doctor hadn't ordered."

"But when the medical profession shifts gears from treating sickness to preventing sickness--and it MUST!--I have every confidence that fasting will be increasingly prescribed."

FAT CHANCE. Why? Fasting is from God. Doctors are from Satan.

Upton Sinclair told about how he brought himself back to health with fasting in Cosmopolitan Magazine. He told of 277 cases of fasting with only 6 that didn't work out. "Surely it cannot be that medical men and scientists will continue for much longer to close their eyes to facts of such vital significance as this." O YES, THEY WILL! Until they are put out of business when Jesus Christ returns!

Upton Sinclair again in his book, "The Fasting Cure," page 33. "And I believe that when the glad tidings of its miracles have reached the people it will lead to the throwing of 90 per cent of our present materia medica into the waste-basket. This may be unwelcome to those physicians who are more concerned with their own income than they are with the health of their patients; but I personally have never met any such physicians, and so I most earnestly urge it upon medical men to investigate the extraordinary and almost incredible facts about the fasting cure."

Wasn't too long afterwards that Dr. Morris Fishbein, editor of the Journal of the AMA, started Hygeia to put down Bernarr Macfadden and the Physical Culture Movement! THE BASTURDS, THOSE DOCTORS!

Sinclair gets more realistic on page 50. "Of course I realize what a difficult matter it is for a medical man to face these facts about the fast. Sometimes it seems to me that we have no right to expect their help at all, and that we never will receive it. For we are asking them to destroy themselves, economically speaking. We do not expect aid from eminent corporation lawyers when we set out to overthrow the rule of privilege in our country; and it must be equally difficult for a hard-worked and not very highly paid physician to contemplate the triumph of an idea, which would leave no place for him in civilization." They are better paid these days. Remember what HWA said in his autobiography - if more people fasted, doctors would starve.

Page 51. "Not so very long ago I saw a report in some metropolitan newspaper to the effect that the medical profession was greatly alarmed over the decrease in its revenues--it being estimated that the income of the average physician to-day was less than half of what it had been ten years ago. All this, I think, is directly attributable to the spread of knowledge concerning natural methods in the treatment of disease--and, more important yet, of natural methods in the preservation of health."

Page 18 of Cott's book. "We are the most antiseptic people on Earth--externally....I wish we all were as concerned with internal cleanliness."

A quote from Dick Gregory whose first fast was from Thanksgiving to New Years. "One fasts for the purpose of cleaning out the system, eliminating all toxic poisons collected in the body. Fasting is detoxification of the body. It is based upon the conviction that toxemia is the basic cause of disease." In modern times it was Dr. Tilden who explained this. I have his book and Dick Gregory's.

So here I am looking at the book, "Fasting for Health," by the man who was the Father of the Physical Culture Movement and popularized fasting. His magazine was called Physical Culture and ran from 1898 until 1940. He was the man who was responsible for the doctors' incomes to go down! Bernarr Macfadden said in his book that before him was Dr. Edward Hooker Dewey who was most instrumental in bringing fasting to the fore in the first place. Am looking at Dewey's book. And looked up Macfadden's protagonist, Dr. Morris Fishbein, who was a quack exposer and wrote about Macfadden. Found out thru Wikipedia that Fishbein was editor of the Journal of the AMA from 1924 to 1950. "Fasting for Health" came out in 1923.

So the fasting baton was carried from Dewey, to Macfadden, to both Herbert Shelton and Paul Bragg. Shelton and Bragg are dead now. Called Shelton's home while he was still alive but he couldn't talk because of a stroke. Virginia Vetrano was Shelton's disciple but is retired now. Patricia Bragg, Bragg's daughter-in-law, is continuing on but is up there in age too.

Macfadden said you stop a machine before you fix it. The biggest working part of the human body is the stomach. It is stopped when fasting.

A very interesting quote that all fasters know about. "One of the great advantages of the fast and one which should be understood by all who contemplate employing the fast, especially the prolonged fast, is the arousing of the vital organism sufficiently that it can bring to the surface previously suppressed diseases--those that have been 'cured' by drugs, perhaps months or years previously. There are many cases on record where these healing crises have been brought about through the fast. Some of the most amazing cures that I have ever beheld have been in those patients who have gone through the 'resurrection' of previously buried (within the organs and tissues of the body) diseases years before-hand." Page 95.

Page 143. "Fasting is Nature's Law of Cure, and those who follow it are merely obeying Nature." Substitute God for nature. Did you get that? You obey God when you fast!

I like the preface of Dr. Dewey's book. "The reader is assured in advance that every line of this volume has been written with conviction at white heat, that enforced food in sickness and the drug that corrodes are professional barbarisms unworthy of the times in which we live."

Page 117. "A few years ago Dr. Tanner, in New York City, fasted for forty days and forty nights, and all the world wondered. Up to that time the feat was considered impossible. From day to day the papers told of his actions and his condition, and the entire people became deeply interested in the performance....Tanner was simply trying to prove that the thing could be done." I have more to prove with my 40-day fast! Looked Tanner up in Wikipedia. The fast was started on June 28, 1880, in New York. His name, Henry S. Tanner. Mark Twain mentions him in passing in "Following the Equator: A Journey Around the World," in 1897.

Dr. Dewey mentions a faster of his who drank too much water without thirst and "needlessly adding to the work of the kidneys." Herbert Shelton said to drink water only when thirsty.

And now to Paul Bragg's book, "The Miracle of Fasting." Jack LaLanne, the original TV Fitness King said, “Bragg saved my life at age 15 when I attended the Bragg Crusade in Oakland, California."

"At the turn of the century I was associated with the great Bernarr Macfadden, Father and Founder of the Physical Culture movement. I was associate Editor of the magazine Physical Culture. The front cover of that magazine always carried these lines 'SICKNESS IS A CRIME - DON'T BE A CRIMINAL.'" Page 3.

Bragg made a religion of keeping in perfect health. He said he was a Health Billionaire! "The 'secret' of the glow of ageless health lies in internal cleanliness and regeneration through natural, organically grown live foods and other regenerative principles such as fasting, pure air, exercise, relaxation, etc." He called his course the Health Course of Life and called himself a Life Extension Specialist.

His method. 1 day fast every week and 3 7-10 day fasts a year. He called rational fasting the greatest discovery of modern times. "The dread of 'Growing Old' and becoming a burden to himself and others is one of man's greatest fears." And I have prayed that I do not become feeble but I realize I have to fast and do my part!

Bragg gives us the facts - pollution in our water, our air and our food. "On one occasion I took a 21-day complete fast --- on the 19th day I had terrible pains in my bladder --- when I urinated it felt like red hot water passing through me. I had the urine examined and sure enough it was filled with DDT and other deadly pesticide poisons. A great feeling of energy flowed over my body when this poison passed out of my body. The whites of my eyes were as clear as new snow --- my body took on a pink glow --- and energy surged through my body. Now, remember I had been fasting for 19 days --- yet I drove over to Pasadena, California, to Mt. Wilson, which is six thousand feet high, and climbed the trail with absolutely no exertion. I ran most of the way down the winding trail. I felt that a tremendous burden had been lifted from my body. In my personal opinion, fasting is the only way to rid the body of commercial poisons found in our fruits and vegetables."

I have often hiked Mt. Wilson. The first time I had to stop before I got to the top, my right knee was in such pain. Then I had to hike all the way back in pain. Thought I did some permanent damage but didn't. Then I fasted over a 45-day period losing 40 pounds and my next trip to Mr. Wilson felt as if I was on the moon! One time I hiked with a half-miler AC college student. I was 40+. We ran about half way down and I couldn't do it anymore. Not in Paul Bragg's shape. Would have liked to have known the man.

Paul Bragg tells of a hike in Death Valley with 10 husky college students to prove he did not need salt tablets. The college students didn't make it. Bragg, a great-grandfather, hiked the 30 miles WHILE FASTING. And then hiked back the next day! So the AC student I went to Mt. Wilson with and I hiked around Palm Springs at 110 degrees. I wanted to do what Bragg did. Needless to say I wasn't up to it. We made about 18 miles. It was tough and I was not ready for Death Valley. Maybe after my 40-day fast!

But Bragg did not recommend fasting as a cure for disease. Sure did keep the doctors off his back. Bragg was interested only in fasting as a preventative, in staying healthy, not getting sick. That's half of it. Shelton took on the other, very more difficult half, the healing half.

Bragg said Victor Hugo called the poison in our body "the serpent which is in man." He believed that poisoning ourselves was the grimmest foe in the fight for Agelessness and Longevity. He quotes Ben Franklin, "Nine men in ten are suicides." They kill themselves with their knives and forks. OVEREATING! Cott's book had a quote that the Chinese could live on the amount of food we eat in America. And they had 7 times our population at the time! And of course eating refined foods. He ate lots of raw fruit and vegetables. Didn't know about unclean meat but he didn't eat much meat at all.

Bragg said he put great physical demands on his body yet only ate 2 light meals daily. A follower of Dr. Dewey's No-Breakfast Plan. "You must earn our food by physical activity!" "Most people are sick or half-sick most of the time, and in my opinion I believe that they enervate themselves and exhaust themselves in trying to burn up all the extra food they consume." He said eating is a sport in America. 70% overweight.

Thomas A. Edison quote. "The Doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease." That doctor, Jesus Christ.

"For every cubic inch of fat on the overweight person, the body must have 700 miles (unbelievable, but true) of fine tubes to nourish and sustain this excess fat." "The waistline is your lifeline and also your dateline!"

He quotes Upton Sinclair. "I have found a perfect health, a new state of existence, a feeling of purity and happiness, something unknown to humans..."

Bragg can't believe that people who believe the Bible should think fasting, something Jesus Christ did, is harmful.

He quotes Dr. Nikolayev's quote of a German proverb. "The illness that cannot be cured by fasting cannot be cured by anything else."

In 1946 Bragg got to go on a 21-day fasting trip with Gandhi. He said the heat and humidity were the worst he ever experienced. Yet Gandhi, who looked frail, was a tower of strength. He said he had never seen a human being which such physical staying power and limitless energy as Gandhi. And Gandhi told him, "All the vitality and all the energy I have comes to me because my body is purified by fasting."

And finally we come to the man who knew more about fasting than anyone else on earth, Herbert. M. Shelton. His co-worker and disciple, Virginia Vetrano, saved my mother-in-law's life (Virginia is not in Wikipedia). And I also saved her life a second time. It was because I read Herbert Shelton's book, FASTING CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE!

From Wikipedia. "Herbert Macgolfin Shelton (6 October 1895–1 January 1985) was an American medical doctor and researcher, complementary and alternative medicine advocate, author, pacifist, vegetarian, and supporter of raw foodism and fasting cures. Shelton was nominated by the American Vegetarian Party to run as its candidate for President of the United States in 1956. He saw himself as the champion of original Natural hygiene ideas from the 1830s."

"Shelton was born on October 6, 1895 in Wylie, Texas to Thomas Mitchell Shelton and Mary Frances Gutherie Shelton, who were devoted Christians. As a child, Shelton took an interest in animals, especially their habits when sick as compared to when well. He was especially intrigued by their fasting when the farm animals became sick."

"Shelton attended Bernarr Macfadden's College of Physcultopathy in Chicago" and a bunch of other schools.

Legal history

A pacifist, Shelton was jailed in 1917 for making an anti-draft statement in public. In 1927, he was arrested, jailed and fined three times for practicing medicine without a license. These arrests continued periodically through the next three decades while he continued to lecture and campaign for his ideas.[2] In 1932, Shelton was jailed repeatedly for practicing medicine without a license. Found guilty of violating the Medical Practice Act, he served 30 days on Rikers Island. In 1942, Shelton was charged with negligent homicide and "treating and offering to treat a human being without a state medical license" for starving a patient to death. The case was never tried and charges were dropped. In 1978, another patient died at one of his schools, this time apparently of a heart attack. After a two-year-long court battle, Shelton lost the lawsuit for negligence and was bankrupted by the judgment. The school closed as a result."

THEY GOT HIM! THE MEDICAL BASTURDS GOT HIM! AND THEY WILL GET THEIRS! Put him in jail countless times for practicing medicine! THOSE BASTURDS. He never practiced medicine and THOSE BASTURDS will never practice fasting!

So he's a hero of mine even though he didn't help fasting by his demonic vegetarianism. He not only didn't eat meat, he did not eat cooked vegetables. All raw! Now that is a real curse to put on fasting. Oh well, what the hell, I learned a lot of truth from him and thank God I didn't learn his untruth.

In the preface to the second edition of the book he starts with, "Much water, much of it dirty, has passed under the bridge since the first edition of Fasting Can Save Your Life came from the press." That's because Satan is the asshole who rules right now. Herbert Shelton will get a just review in my book!

"The phrases 'untoward side effects' and 'adverse reactions' appear so often in the writings of scientific experimenters that, when reading them, one easily gets the idea that one is reading about drugs." I like that one.

Shelton says FASTING IS NOT A CURE. He says it permits the body to heal itself. OH, SEMANTICS! If you don't fast you get no cure! FASTING IS THE CURE, DESIGNED BY ALMIGHTY GOD! Take that you medical basturds!

In his preface to the first edition. "Because overeating has become one of the great physiological and psychological problems of our age here in America, I am placing particular importance on this aspect of the subject in the early chapters of this book."

In the first chapter Herbert gives an example of a man he fasted with asthma. He told him, "You cannot get well if you continue to use drugs." He took him off all drugs. We used to tell people that in the church. And then the church changed and wouldn't command people to go off drugs. 1957. It would not command christian sheep to stop Baalzebub's drugs, to stop idolatry! Well, Herbert Shelton was smarter than Herbert Armstrong here!

So this guy was choking, he thought to death, and was told it would be over in 24 hours. Well, it was sooner than that. He was feeling and breathing as well as he did when he was a boy. ALL THAT SUFFERING, ALL THOSE YEARS, BECAUSE OF DOCTORS! Less than a day of fasting and he's over it! He also started to urinate like a boy. After 6 days his prostate gland had shrunken to nearly normal size.

On the 25th day he wanted to break the fast but was advised not to. On the 36th day he regained his hearing in his deaf ear. The fast was continued to the 42nd day. He discovered when he returned home THAT HE WAS NO LONGER IMPOTENT! Now doctors won't believe this. They say it's anecdotal! They only believe what they say and do, THE EVIL BASTURDS! Can I say that enough, EVIL BASTURDS? And Herbert Shelton fasted 50,000 people! Doctors, 0!

Shelton also said that "restoration of good vision, in errors of refraction, is not at all uncommon" in a fast.

"For over one hundred and forty years, natural Hygienists have employed the fast as a means of promoting health and enabling the body to recover speedily from illness." The book came out in 1964 so that makes it over 180 years. "There are, of course, critics of fasting. Most of them know very little about fasting, or its techniques." He quotes A. Rabogliati of England, "The most popular criticisms of fasting are written by people who have never missed a meal in their lives."

"Hygienists are realists. Nothing can circumvent the fact that the quickest, surest, safest way to lose weight is by fasting, and the surest way of maintaining the proper weight level is by refusing to return to the wrong eating habits." You can find the hygienists today at anhs.org. Just looked up their page and saw some familiar names. Dr. Joel Fuhrman. You may have seen him on PBS recently. Didn't hear a word about fasting from him though. I emailed him and said I guessed he was going to give them the kicker about fasting after he gained their confidence. No answer. Also saw the names of Dr. Alan Goldhammer and Dr. Burton, from Australia. And FASTING CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE is now back in publication.

Fat melts away fast with fasting. "To lose one pound of fat requires playing twenty-three holes of golf, sawing wood for ten and one-half hours, riding a horse for approximately forty-three miles."

Did you know a bear gives birth and suckles the cub while hibernating, while fasting? Fasting salmon swim over 1000 miles upstream to spawn. Making those fantastic jumps over waterfalls, etc.

Since these are highlights of the book there will be skipping around.

"In acute disease, hunger is not present for the simple reason that the energies of the organism have been diverted into other channels. There is no energy to spare to carry on work like digestion, that can temporarily be dispensed with...Yet food is often taken at such times under the medical dictum that we must eat to keep our strength. In such instances the food is sometimes thrown up, or may be rushed out of the digestive tract by means of a diarrhea. If not expelled in these ways, it becomes a burden in the digestive tract, further adding to the poisoning of the body....Indeed, the repugnance to food that is present may rightly be regarded as a 'close-for-repairs' sign placed at the entrance of the digestive tract. It should be heeded."

Fasting is house-cleaning. Shelton quotes J. H. Tilden who wrote a book on toxins in the system being the main cause of disease. I have that book. "After fifty-five years of sojourning in the wilderness of medical therapeutics, I am forced to declare, without fear of successful contradiction, that fasting is the only reliable, specific, therapeutic eliminant known to man."

Can fasting cure cancer? Shelton on page 38,39. "My answer is that while I have seen cancerous growths greatly reduced in size during a fast, I have never seen one eliminated completely....Benign tumors on the other hand are frequently completely broken down and absorbed."

"Fasting, as I have defined it in this book does not cause death...But death may result from an advanced condition of cancer or heart disease or Bright's disease or some other condition of this nature while the fast is in progress. In such cases it is not correct to attribute death to the fast. Those patients die without fasting and it is reasonably certain that in most cases they would die sooner if eating...Where a disease is terminal and there is no hope of recovery, it seems to me cruel to stuff the patient with overfeeding that can only increase the suffering of the dying."

"In states of great emaciation, in advanced stages of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and in advanced tuberculosis, there is nothing to be gained from a fast. Fasting in cancer of the liver and in cancer of the pancreas is especially to be avoided...In pregnancy, fasting should be resorted to only in cases of urgent necessity. In cases of morning sickness, common in the early stages of pregnancy, fasting a few days will prove of benefit...As fasting causes the milk of the nursing mother to diminish, and it is not increased when feeding is resumed, the nursing mother should avoid fasting unless her adviser considers it an urgent necessity."

"How long should one fast?....Ideally, the answer is basically that the fast should continue until the return of hunger." The average length of that is 40 days. "Let developments determine the length of the fast." On short fasts like I took he says, "And such a program, unless rigidly supervised, is capable of producing harm such as never results from a properly conducted long fast. There is the fact also that a program of alternating feeding and fasting tends to become more difficult for the individual to carry out." I can attest to this!

Some things that happen during a fast. Vomiting in 15% of cases. I vomited for 3 days. There can also be diarrhea but not as common as vomiting. Shelton says there is usually a crisis around day 15. Just grin and bear it. It will pass.

"When disease is the result of years of wrong life, and if the condition of the patient is one of grave weakness, with severe organic impairment, much skill will be required to take the individual through a fast of sufficient duration to accomplish the desired results." In such a case you shouldn't do it yourself. It would be best for God to step in and heal miraculously! Shelton did not have God's way to heal miraculously! We do. We can have 2 ways to heal. Fasting and divine healing miraculously!

On breaking a fast. "After a fast of considerable length there is a period of several days, lasting up to two weeks, during which the individual feels hungry most of the time. If he will control his eating until this initial period of hunger has passed, he will settle down to a more normal appetite and the danger of overeating will pass. Uncontrolled, he may eat so much during this period that he loses much that he gained in the fast."

Dr. Virginia Vetrano, who has been my able associate for a number of years has been breaking fasts on whole foods for several years and finds that in most cases it is far superior to breaking the fast on juices, as was formerly advised. She reasoned that animals in the wild have no juicers or blenders and therefore have to break their fasts naturally on whole foods. Why should man be an exception?"

Interesting quote on page 76. "In 1960, Tara Singh of India underwent a 48-day fast for political reasons. He was seventy-six years of age and his physicians gave it as their belief, after examining him, that his period of abstinence had 'increased his life span by at least ten years.' This statement of his physicians, issued from New Delhi, added that the fasting period had 'relieved illness from which he was suffering'" FROM DOCTORS YET!

I put the following in all-caps. "IT IS NOT UNUSUAL TO SEE PATIENTS RECOVER AFTER IT HAS BEEN DECLARED THAT EVERY THING HAD BEEN DONE THAT SCIENCE COULD DO. THIS IS SO BECAUSE THE VERY THINGS THAT SCIENCE DOES ARE SO OFTEN THE CAUSES OF DEATH."

"The diabetic may safely and profitably fast, particularly if he carries considerable weight. If insulin has been taken over an extended period of time, fasting is rarely recommended." To think that Herbert Armstrong started walking away from God by permitting a church member's son to take insulin in 1956! The church was saying that insulin is not a drug but something your body makes! And if you have taken it for years, God-created fasting will not be able to heal you. Satan has you between a rock and a hard place. But God can still heal you miraculously! Remember you can live through a burst appendix by fasting. You can also live through the stopping of insulin by Jesus Christ's sacrifice!

I like this quote. "When, on July 28, 1939, William J. Mayo, M.D., the last of the two brothers who established the famous Mayo clinic, died, the press carried the story that he died of a sub-acute perforating ulcer, AN ABDOMINAL AILMENT HE HAD SPECIALIZED IN TREATING...It is no unusual thing for a specialist to die of the disease in which he specializes. That they 'take their own medicine' attests to their sincerity: that they cannot protect themselves reveals that the knowledge they posses is not dependable." PHYSICIAN HEAL THYSELF!

Towards the end of his book he gives goes into the healing of different diseases with fasting. Multiple Sclerosis, Asthma, Arthritis, Peptic Ulcer, Migraine, Hay Fever, High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, Colitis, Psoriasis and Eczema, Prostatic Enlargement, Gonorrhea, Gallstones, Tumors of the Breast, Sterility in Women.

I owe this man a lot and I will owe him a lot more if I ever go on a 40-day fast to my reserves!

VIII. RESUME' CONTINUED - THE STUDY OF MEDICAL HISTORY

Not only did I research and write about what the church said about healing and doctors, I went ABOVE AND BEYOND like God says we should and studied medical history! Now how many have done that? You won't find many books. I had to go to the annex by the tennis courts at AC to find some! The best book on doctors was written by a DOCTOR! Dr. Robert S. Mendelsohn. "Confessions of a Medical Heretic." In it he says doctors are agents of the devil! He also said that medical students were taught by some professors that half of what is taught is no longer true in 4 years. Another half in another 4 years. And doctors aren't told which half! He called Medical Science THE CHURCH OF MEDICAL SCIENCE!

He also said he had the LUXURY of thinking and writing. He wrote a national column in the papers. Well I also had the luxury of thinking, READING and writing. I have had that luxury in SECURITY where I have been for the last 24 YEARS! I wrote "God Or Doctors" while working in security. I did a lot of reading and even some thinking! I also started reaching out in security with an ad I placed in the International Recyler. I answered all the letters I received with a long hand-written letter. My right hand wrist and fingers ached. Received 70 letters from Romania alone. Most just wanted to come to the states.

Early on in my Security Career i was also listening to a radio station, KIEV, Glendale. There was a Scientologist with a talk show named Karl. Don't remember his last name. I started calling in about fasting and suggested he have Dr. Mendelsohn on his show. He did. I asked Dr. Mendelsohn if ye wouldn't write a medical history book but he quickly said others were written. Oh yeah? Guess you can get them in medical school. But you sure don't get them at bookstores or libraries. Well, he was really going to get after doctors on the radio show and mentioned the AMA was having a big banquet in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins and he was invited as guest speaker. He said he really didn't know why THEY would ask him. But he went. He was dead after a few weeks. Wonder if the docs did something to him?

Another good book about doctors was written by Martin L.Gross called "The Doctors." Was able to talk Horst Obermeit out of his copy. Haven't read anything about doctors in that last 20 years or so. Probably not that much written. Maybe someone out there has and we could have an interactive chapter here.

Went to an Irish Fair and found "The History of Medicine" by C. G. Cumston. Early doctors all said they got their instruction from the gods! And you know who the gods are! The Egyptians had "advanced" medicine. Medical schools from the 1st Dynasty. Herodotus said that doctors there were SPECIALISTS and did not treat several kinds of diseases. Hundreds of prescriptions. One doctor/writer from Italy who came to the states said those prescriptions read like TODAY even though they were thousands of years old!

Cumston had a chapter on the Hippocratic Oath. This is how it begins, "I swear by Apollo the physician, by Aesculapius, Hygeia, and Panacea, and I take to witness all the gods, all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgment the following Oath:...." Definitely not taking an oath to Almighty God! Interesting that Hippocrates is called the Father of Medicine because he was said to take medicine out of the hands of the gods.

Interesting thing about the Oath. All doctors have taken it since the 400s BC. The Oath said doctors would not perform abortions. FIRST DO NO HARM! Must have changed the Oath after the Supreme Court made abortions legal in the early 70s cause they are still taking it, aren't they? Should be called the HYPOCRITICAL OATH!

An interesting quote from On Decorum in the Hippocratic Collection. "Physicians should bow before the gods because their art is not provided with means of cure in abundance." Yup, we spend 2 trillion a year for medical care and are sicker than ever!

Another quote from Cumston on page 90. "The supreme duty of the physician is to cure; his greatest crime would be to co-operate in the destruction of life by murder, suicide, or abortion."

Hippocrates discovered how much the human body heals itself. He used fasting. 85% of all sickness is healed by the body, AND THAT WITHOUT FASTING. Doctors have put that on their resume' as something they have done. Remember what David said about how wonderfully we were made by God!

Did you know that fevers are GOOD? Dr. Andrew Weil from Phoenix will tell you it's the liver heating you up while it is destroying toxins in the system. But most people suppress fever with drugs. You are stopping the healing process God set in motion! YOU ARE AGAINST GOD! Rhazes, the great Moslem doctor in the late 800's, said that fever did not represent a disease but only showed that nature was working to bring about a solution to disease.

Have a close connection with fevers. Our youngest daughter would go into a seizure at the onset of a fever. It happened several times. Yes, she went to the emergency ward. One time she was taken by helicopter to a well-know hospital at Loma Linda, 7th Day Adventist. She was unconscious for 8 HOURS! But I found that even seizures and unconsciousness helped in the healing process by giving the affected body a much needed REST. She came out of unconsciousness in fine shape. But the doctors there wanted to put her on medication FOR LIFE so she wouldn't keep getting seizures which could damage her. I said NO! And she never had another seizure!

Another fever story. The youngest had a seizure. Took her to emergency. Another daughter had a very bad cold. My wife took her in. Well the youngest came out of the seizure OK but the docs were testing the other daughter and wanted to give her drugs. They took such a long time and pissed me off that I went in and took her out. I had to sign for her release. The doc there was a young black woman who said as I was leaving that some parents should not have children! A nurse said we'd be back because she'd get pneumonia. She got well instead and we did not have to go back! But we were visited by a social worker for that one. It is much harder when you have children's sicknesses and an unconverted wife. But I have to give my wife a lot of credit. She let ME deliver 3 of our 4 children. And we didn't get any kids immunized. They had no childhood diseases! They are still going to school in California!

You don't just say you are against doctors, you DO something! I didn't like the way doctors deliver babies. Too much heroics meaning they intervene too much. Like drugs to induce labor which can distress a fetal-monitored baby and cause the doc to give the mother a caesarian. 1 in 4 births are done by caesarian operation and even doctors say that's way to many!

My young wife got pregnant and got her hands on a book from a friend written by a nurse, a doctor's wife. It basically scared you about all the difficulties of childbirth so you are sure to go to a doctor. Although the reality is that 85% of births are problem free and the ones with problems are mothers who smoke and have taken street drugs. I got another book written by a Brit woman, the natural method. So we had a midwife to come to the house but she didn't make it on time. I got to deliver although my wife said she'd kill me if I didn't call the paramedics. I called but they arrived too late. Everything went well though, well enough that we decided to deliver the next one by ourselves. Even though he was a blue baby I had been one too and my mother said the doctor worked real fast untying the cord from around the neck and lifting the baby up by the heels, spanking it's butt to get it to cry and breathe. This all worked for me. I had to reach in and pull him out though. The third baby was premature and we let the paramedics take her to the hospital for 10 days because they convinced us her lungs weren't fully developed. She came back healthy.

My little woman was a bit older with the last child and thought she should be delivered in a hospital. She found a doctor who she thought was a woman. He was a moslem. After 7 months I told her to give him a sheet of paper telling him all the things WE wanted him to do in the hospital. He said he would have to get the hospital's approval and then told us we would have to go somewhere else. Well we found a woman doctor who delivered naturally at her clinic in Pasadena.

I've put this story on FB in my bio. Iris and I always faced each other during contractions. She would bare down on my arms with hers during contractions. Remember having sore arms after the first birth. This time the doctor wanted her to turn around and face her for delivery. SHE REFUSED! She wanted to continue facing me. DO YOU KNOW HOW GOOD THAT MADE ME FEEL? The doc delivered from behind successfully. I thought I was more humane though. When it came time for delivery I had Iris get on the bed, on her side with one leg up. Worked just fine and we were able to use gravity to help bring the baby down during contractions until just before the end. Women laying on their backs with their legs up IS NOT THE WAY TO DELIVER! Eh, but what do I know.

Dr. Mendelsohn knew a lot about doctors and so I resurrect him from the dead like I did when I was on internet radio, interviewing him through his book, "Confessions of a Medical Heretic." He starts out with a Non Credo. His first words, "I do not believe in Modern Medicine. I am a medical heretic. My aim in this book is to persuade you to become a heretic, too."

"I believe that despite all the super technology and elite bedside manner that's supposed to make you feel about as well cared for as an astronaut on the way to the moon, the greatest danger to your health is the doctor who practices Modern Medicine. I believe that Modern Medicine's treatments for disease are seldom effective, and that they're often more dangerous than the diseases they're designed to treat....I believe that more than ninety percent of Modern Medicine could disappear from the face of the earth--doctors, hospitals, drugs, and equipment--and the effect on our health would be immediate and beneficial."

His first chapter is called Dangerous Diagnosis. And I have a story about Mrs. Meredith who cried to her friend Mrs. Rice and complained that her husband was putting pressure on her to go to the doctor for a diagnosis. She said it would weaken her faith in God! When Mr. Meredith found out about it he told her he was not putting pressure on her. She died of cancer IN THE FAITH! Will Mr. Rod Meredith? He told this story in the hardest hitting sermon on healing and faith before the passover after HWA's death. I have the tape.

When I was fasting in 82 and having a hard time of it I was visited by our minister unexpectedly. He said I should probably go to a doctor and get a diagnosis. Early on in the fast I had him anoint me for pain that wouldn't go away. This was done before I had to give a speech. I remember that I forgot all about the pain while speaking.

I told him I wasn't going to have the doctor take me for a fool! I wasn't going to take his advice. Why pay him good money and not take his advice?

Dr. Mendelsohn starts the chapter with, "I don't advise anyone who has no symptoms to go to the doctor for a physical examination. For people WITH symptoms, it's not such a good idea, either." "You can never go to the doctor too soon, most doctors would claim. And most people seem to believe that . You must realize , however, that the mere act of submitting to the diagnostic procedure implies that you're asking for treatment, at least as far as the doctor is concerned. In no uncertain terms, if you show up, you're asking for it."

Doctors are trained to intervene. "Most doctors are unable to recognize wellness, simply because they're not trained in wellness but in disease. Because they have sharper eyes for signs of disease than for signs of health, and because they have no conception of the relative importance of signs of both in the same person, they're more apt to pronounce you sick than well." The most common thing they pronounce you with is high blood pressure. "Just in case medicine" will give you lots of tests! "As a patient, once you submit to a physical examination, your doctor might interpret minor abnormalities--real or bogus--as pre-conditions of some serious illness, requiring, of course, serious pre-intervention."

"Doctors in general should be treated with about the same degree of trust as used car salesmen. Whatever your doctor says or recommends, you have to first consider how it will benefit HIM."

"Whenever you get a second opinion that is different from the first opinion, you should go back and confront the first doctor with what the second doctor said. People don't often do this because they're afraid of the anger and hostility of the first doctor. It's very valuable to test the doctor this way. It's a good idea to elicit that anger and hostility because that might change your attitude towards the doctor. And towards doctors in general."

I GET NO FIRST, SECOND OR THIRD OPINION BECAUSE I DON'T GO FOR THE FIRST ONE!

His second chapter is called Miraculous Mayhem and is about drugs. He said drugs "aren't merely scientific,--they're SACRED." They are the "communion wafers of Modern Medicine." He mentions Holy Waters. Silver nitrate in the eyes of babies. The police came and forced us to take our first baby to a doctor. We went to the doctor that Iris used to deliver her first baby from a previous marriage. It was on a Sunday morning and the doctor who wasn't our doctor, we had a midwife who came late and I got to deliver, A BLESSING, checked the baby. I said no silver nitrate and had to sign a paper.

Have to tell a story here. One of the policemen, who was HISPANIC, and my wife is Hispanic, asked me why I delivered the baby at home. I said the doctors produced too many caesareans (1 in 4 births).

Mendelsohn lists other Holy Waters. Routine intravenous fluids to laboring mothers, and other hospital patients, routine immunizations, and the fluoridation of water.

He mentions that drug companies spent $6000 a year on each and every doctor for the purpose of getting them to use their drugs. That was in 79. When I worked for the County Health Clinic I was able to partake in the very nice lunches drug companies gave doctors. I'll eat their food. I won't take their drugs.

Doctors are supposed to believe, Primum, non nocere, first do no harm. But now it's first do something and that something is to give a prescription. Doctors have completely bought the advertising slogan "better living through chemistry," the quick chemical fix.

"If you look at almost any other system of medicine besides the Western, you'll find a heavy reliance on food. The 'food' of Modern Medicine, however, is the drug. The American doctor...completely disregards nutrition. Those who are concerned with nutrition are labeled faddists, freaks, extremists, radicals, and quacks.. Occasionally, they're (more correctly) referred to as HERETICS."

"Perhaps in their zeal to reject the Old Testament dietary laws, some of the early Christian leaders moved too far in the opposite direction and bypassed nutrition altogether."

"THERE IS NO SAFE DRUG. ELI LILLY HIMSELF ONCE SAID THAT A DRUG WITHOUT TOXIC EFFECTS IS NO DRUG AT ALL."

He gives a good story about the Physicians' Desk Reference. "The PDR can be considered the 'bible' of the Church of Modern Medicine, especially since for a long time it was forbidden literature except to the priesthood." Just like the Bible which was written in Latin and only able to be read by the educated priests of the Catholic Church."

"Although it is easily available now, up until about two years ago [this book published in 1979] the publisher refused to distribute it to other than members of the medical profession. I wasn't aware of this when I gave the PDR many plugs in my column and newsletter. Finally, I got a letter from the publisher telling me to please stop referring people to their book since they distributed it only to professionals. They felt that the public wouldn't understand the PDR and would be confused by it. Well, I published that letter in my column and I commented that it was the first time in history a publisher didn't want to sell his books. Shortly thereafter, without any kind of fanfare, the PDR not only started showing up in bookstores, but it was PROMOTED in bookstores!" The PDR is the book about drugs and side effects.

"Because we're living in an era of poly-pharmacy--everybody is taking more than one drug at a time--you've got to become aware of the dangers of COMBINATIONS OF DRUGS....One drug might have only a five percent chance of hurting you. But in combination with another drug, the danger can be MULTIPLIED by a factor of two, three, four, five..who knows?" "Most drugs' mechanisms remain mysteries even to the people who DEVELOP them."

"You should be aware of all the drugs for which the side effects are the same as the indications. This isn't as rare as you might think. For example, if you read the list of indications for Valium, and then read the list of side effects, you'll find that the lists are more or less INTERCHANGEABLE! Under the indications you'll find: anxiety, fatigue, depression, acute agitation, tremors, hallucinosis, skeletal muscle spasms. And under the side effects: anxiety, fatigue depression, acute hyperexcited states, tremors, hallucinations, increased muscle spasticity! I admit I don't know how to use a drug like this: what am I supposed to do if I prescribe it and the symptoms continue? Stop the drug or double the dose? What strategy lies behind using drugs like this is a mystery to me. Perhaps doctors are playing the placebo effect for all it's worth? Or maybe they are merely trying to SANCTIFY a patient's original symptoms by giving a drug that CAUSES them?....In any case, Valium is the largest selling drug in history, with prescriptions approaching 60 million, a year. Maybe it deserves to be the largest selling drug in history, since by having identical indications and side effects, it achieves what all systems of science, art, and faith strive for: Unity!"

Yet, " doctors simply don't believe in non-drug therapies. For one thing, very few of them KNOW HOW to treat without drugs. So they don't believe in it." "Doctors don't know enough about nutrition and lifestyle to really show a patient how to make a useful change. Maybe one doctor in fifty knows." "In the Church of Modern Medicine, the doctor who treats without drugs is regarded as a heretic because he or she appears to have rejected the sacrament of medication." "The AMA code of ethics says that M.D.s are not supposed to associate with cultists."

The Third Chapter - Ritual Mutilations - Surgery

"My feeling is that somewhere around ninety percent of surgery is a waste of time, energy, money, and life."

"One study, for example, closely reviewed people who were recommended for surgery. Not only did they find that most of them needed no surgery, but fully HALF OF THEM NEEDED NO MEDICAL TREATMENT AT ALL!"

In one study 262 appendectomies a year were done in one hospital before a tissue committee began overseeing surgery. During the first year of the committee it dropped to 178. Within a few years it dropped to 62. Dr. Mendelsohn said that a lot of victims of needless surgery are children and then says that only one in 1000 tonsillectomies are really needed. I was a victim and now have problems with my lymphatic system because of it. A tumor in my left chest since 1973, one in the left groin and maybe several in the stomach area. Will be interesting if i can get rid of them during the 40 days of fasting.

"Tonsillectomies have been performed for more then 2000 years, and their usefulness in most cases never has been proved." In 1979 the US was still taking a million a year. Dr. Mendelsohn said women were also victims of unnecessary surgery and starts with hysterectomies. "In their lusting after the status and power of surgeons, obstetricians are rapidly turning the natural process of childbirth into a surgical procedure."

"The first major intrusion into childbirth was the introduction of forceps. Two sinister sixteenth-century barber-surgeons, the Chamberlen brothers, always carried a huge wooden box into the delivery room. They sent everyone else out of the room and blindfolded the mother in labor before opening the box. It wasn't until the nineteenth century that the contents of the box became widely known: obstetrical forceps. Using forceps to extract the baby whether or not the birth proceeds normally was the first step towards turning labor and delivery into surgery."

"The next step came as scientists became interested in the birthing process. Doctors began to compete with midwives, and as they won, the process came to be supervised by the male doctor rather than the female midwife. It wasn't long before childbirth moved from the home into the hospital, where all the trappings and stage settings for treating it as a disease could be easily arranged. Of course, when the male doctors took over childbirth, it DID become a disease. The doctors did something the midwives never did: they went right from the autopsy labs where they were handling corpses to the maternity wards to attend births. Maternal and infant death rates skyrocketed far beyond where they had been when midwives delivered babies. One courageous doctor, Ignaz Semmelweis, pointed out the deadly connection and was hounded out of the medicine and into an insane asylum for suggesting that doctors were the agents of disease. Once Semelweis' suggestion that doctors wash their hands before attending a birth was adopted, maternal and infant mortality rates dropped--an event for which the profession predictably took credit."

"Obstetricians were not long satisfied by the minor surgery of the episiotomy. They had to have something more awesome and dangerous. After all, the delivery room setting only adds to the feeling that something terribly abnormal must be happening here. And such an abnormal process surely demands medical intervention. The more extreme the better. And since the delivery room is really an operating room disguised by the simple addition of an incubator, what really should be going on here is a full blown operation. Hence the obstetrical sacrifice graduates beyond the simple mutilation of the episiotomy to the most sinister development of modern obstetrics, the EPIDEMIC of Caesarean deliveries."

I believe it was one in four when I delivered our babies. So I checked the internet and C-sections have increased 53% since 1996 to 32% of births. Dr. Mendelsohn was an obstetrician! He also wrote a book called "Malepractice."

"Fetal monitoring...is the diagnostic procedure that is reaping the harvest of Caesarean section deliveries. Whether or not the fetus is really in trouble, if the monitor says something is wrong, there's a rush to slice the mother open and remove the baby. Then the obstetrician can bask in all the limelight that comes with performing a miracle. After all, he's snatched a life from the jaws of certain death or disablement. Studies of comparable deliveries show that Caesarean deliveries occur three to four times more often in births attended by electronic fetal monitoring than in those monitored with a stethoscope. That's not so hard to understand."

"A woman has plenty of other reasons not to want her delivery electronically monitored. In order to attach the electrodes to the fetus' scalp, the bag of waters must be artificially broken.. This results in an instant depression of the fetal heart rate." And, "A labor induced by the doctor can end up a Caesarean delivery because a baby that's not ready to be born will naturally show more distress on fetal monitors, distress at being summoned prematurely."

In checking C-sections, i found a recent protest of too many of them in San Diego. One protester said she was not opposed to induced labor BUT THAT IS A CAUSE OF MORE C-SECTIONS!

"Postoperative complications occur in half of all women who deliver by Caesarean section. And the maternal death rate is 26 TIMES higher than in women who deliver vaginally. I propose that we drop the term fetal monitoring and start calling it FATAL monitoring!" The Dutch still use midwives and they have the lowest death rate at birth of all countries!

CANCER. "Modern cancer surgery someday will be regarded with the same kind of horror that we now regard the use of leeches in George Washington's time. It was shown to be irrational thirty-five years ago when Warren Cole at the University of Illinois showed that if you examine the peripheral blood after you open the skin, you find that as a result of surgery the tumor cells have already spread. Doctors answered that by saying of course the tumor spreads, but the rest of the body can take care of it. That's a silly answer. If the person's body could 'take care of it,' the person wouldn't have cancer in the first place!" AND WHEN THEY CHECK A TUMOR TO SEE IF IT IS CANCEROUS, THEY PUT A HOLE IN IT AND CANCER CELLS ESCAPE INTO THE REST OF THE BODY!

"Modern Medicine has succeeded in usurping the power of traditional religions so all of us, including the priests, rabbis, ministers, and monks, see ourselves as ultimately repairable to and by the power that resides in the tabernacle of the operating room."

The Fourth Chapter - The Temples of Doom

"A hospital is like a war. You should try your best to stay out of it. And if you get into it you should take along as many allies as possible and get out as soon as you can." "For the hospital is the Temple of the Church of Modern Medicine, and thus one of the most dangerous places on earth." I remember Bob Hope telling Frank Sinatra to get out of a the hospital as soon as he could.

"A temple is built to house the spirit of the religion. Whatever vision informs the religion is present in the temple, and the building becomes the center of prophecy, the place where the gods speak to the people. When I hear someone--usually an older person who wasn't born in this country--say that the hospital is 'where you go to die,' I say to myself that he or she has been hearing what the gods are saying."

"Overall, your chances of getting an infection in the hospital are about one in twenty." "As bacteriologically overrun as hospitals are, I've rarely seen an epidemic that was blamed on the hospital or the staff. They always pin it on the VISITORS! The inevitable aftermath of the epidemic is restriction of visiting hours. Actually, keeping visitors away is only HALF of what should be done. PATIENTS would be better off if they were kept out of the hospitals, too." "It's a well-kept secret in hospitals that the most dangerous place in the hospital--as far as the patients are concerned--is the newborn nursery, where none of the patients have (particularly those who are denied the immunity-transference of breastfeeding) developed their immunity to germs."

"Hospitals are contaminated with more than germs. Remember, since hospitals are the temples of Modern Medicine, all the dangerous chemicals that doctors love to use are in plentiful supply. With all those drugs at their disposal, doctors are bound to use them. And they do. Patients in the hospital receive an average of twelve different drugs."

"In no uncertain terms, when you walk into a hospital, you are surrendering--'Here I am, totally unable to help myself. You must save me, I am without power. All power is yours'...Hospital costs are the biggest single element in the country's total bill for medical 'care.' That bill is rapidly overtaking defense, the Number One item on the country's total bill for everything. When medicine EXCEEDS defense, the Inquisition will really be unstoppable." That happened years ago. We spend over 2 trillion a year on health care. 687 billion on defense in 2010.

Chapter Five - Holy War on the Family

"Most people think doctors stopped making housecalls because they could see more patients in the office. The real reason is that doctors don't want to meet the family on its own turf."

"If obstetricians acknowledged the fact that more than ninety-five percent of births proceed entirely without complications, more than ninety-five percent of their services would be recognized as unnecessary. That would mean a lot fewer obstetricians--well as healthier families."

"Babies born in the hospital are six times more likely to suffer distress during labor and delivery, eight times more likely to get caught in the birth canal, four times more likely to need resuscitation, four times more likely to become infected, and thirty times more likely to be permanently injured. Their mothers are three times more likely to hemorrhage."

None of my 7 children were born in a hospital. I delivered 3 at home. Doctors delivered 3 at home. The last one was delivered in a natural childbirth clinic. Dr. Mendelsohn said bottlefeeding was the grandaddy of all junk food. He tells us to feed the baby what we eat, grind it, etc. That's what I did with all 7 babies. They never got a bottle of baby food. My last 5 were never immunized but this is Dr. Mendelsohn's prophecy: "Sooner or later doctors and some school districts are going to get really rough and go after people who refuse to have their children immunized. They'll simply declare the children victims of child abuse and remove them from the home."

Chapter Six - Doctor Death

"Modern Medicine is an idolatrous religion, for what it holds sacred are not living things but mechanical processes...What resides at the core of every religion, the core from which hope radiates when all human attempts to deal with earthly conditions fail, is the Deity, the One Who Transcends it all. To get to the core of Modern medicine you have to wade through an ocean of man-made drugs and fight your way through endless tons of machinery.. If you then don't understand why the Church is savagely idolatrous and must be DESTROYED, you will when you stare its Deity in the face."

"In fact, a new word was recently coined by Dr. Quentin Young to describe one activity of Modern Medicine: iatrogenocide. Iatrogenocide (iatros is the greek for doctor) is the systematic destruction of a large group of people by DOCTORS." "For example, thanks to Modern Medicine's sanction, what were once called sins are no longer sins at all. Thus, homosexuality is now called an 'alternative lifestyle.'" "The only 'alternative lifestyle' that is not acceptable is any one which precludes participation in the Church. It's a sin if you have your baby at home, but not a sin if you have an ABORTION. It's a sin if you honor a foreign god by going to a chiropractor, but it's not a sin if you go to one of the shrines of Modern Medicine for a sex change."

He gives the story of doctor strikes. In 1976 doctors went on strike in Columbia for 52 days. One side effect was that the death rate during that time went down 35%! In 73 Israeli doctors reduced their daily patient contact from 65,000 to 7,000 for one month. The death rate went down 50%! "I've been saying right along that what we need is a perpetual doctors' strike."

"I've always believed that if you want to find out what a society's really all about, look at its mottoes and what it claims to prohibit. Look on a coin and you'll see 'In God We Trust.' Now if there's a society that trusts MORE in God than the United States, I haven't heard of it."

Chapter Seven - THE DEVIL'S PRIESTS

IX. RESUME' CONTINUED - SEE YOU AT MT. CARMEL

The time has come for us to meet at Mt. Carmel. Roderick Meredith has called for a spiritual fast next Sabbath for healing and sent out a DVD for the Living Church of God on "Faith for Healing" to be played today. I've decided to start my physical fast today, my sacrifice, for healing and cleaning one of God's Temples. Let's see which one God honors. Your spiritual fast without OBEDIENCE or my physical fast, WHICH IS AUTOMATIC AND GOD CREATED FOR HEALING AND CLEANING THE HUMAN BODY, WITH OBEDIENCE.

I say us and you because y'all will be there with Meredith's church since you all believe that it's OK to go to doctors, going to another god, Baalzebub, Satan's healing name, which is disobeying the first and greatest commandment!

Mr. Armstrong said in his first booklet on healing, the correct one, that people with FAITH for healing are not healed because they are not OBEDIENT! So I don't expect God to bless Meredith's fast. Now mine is automatic. The only problem would be my lack of will power, stopping the fast before total cleaning, stopping before around 40 DAYS! Fasters know that it takes 40 days to reach your reserves, total cleanout! When that time comes hunger returns with a wolf's appetite like it did with Jesus Christ.

It's interesting that Jesus Christ did not thirst, at least the Bible does not say he did. Jesus did not need to go on a spiritual fast and he didn't need a physical fast either. 7 days is considered the longest a person can go without water before he DIES! But I know of a Dr. Tanner who went 10 days without water (1910 or thereabouts) at the beginning of a 40-day fast which was well-monitored and in the news. I have a printout of the microfilm from the Pasadena library. It's physically impossible to go without water for 40 days unless you have help from God (or in the case of some Indian guru, god).

The last time I went on a long physical fast was February 1982. I fasted a 9, 10 and 12 day fast with 7 days of eating in between, not the way to do it but it did get my temple about half way cleaned. There was always a sermon on faith and spiritual examination and cleaning before taking the Passover. Never one on doing a physical examination and taking a physical fast to clean the temple of God. Most sickness is caused by a dirty temple, toxins in the body. So if you want to get rid of the cause you do a house-cleaning fast. Fat is not good. You lose your fat when you fast, and you lose it FAST. God won't do that for you. Have you ever been anointed for weight-lose and wake up the next morning 40 pounds lighter?

Things will be a little different for me than for Jesus, Moses or Elijah. I have a job, 24 hours a week. When you get to the end of your reserves you are concentration camp skinny! Might have to take a couple of weeks off as a security guard might not look that convincing.

Another difference. None of the above wrote anything that was recorded during the fast. I will. Plan to do a lot more in the chapters about fasting and medical history. Will continue the chapter on current events and of course this chapter. Plan a chapter on New Testament scriptures.

Doctors and dieticians agree that we humans are in the habit of eating far more food than our bodies require. If food is eaten in excess of bodily needs, it is bound to produce a clogging up of the vital processes; for if it is not needed, it is invariably harmful and becomes productive of causes which lead to sickness and disease.

A great number of sicknesses are caused by the presence of poison in the bloodstream. Greatly restricting one's diet enables the body to cleanse itself of the accumulation of the products of an imperfect diet. As food intake is retarded, elimination proceeds rapidly and the body is truly "house-cleaning" itself.

For many, many common sicknesses such as colds, headaches, fevers, and stomach distress, such a procedure is often effective.

Mr. Paul Royer wrote a very good article in the Good News, Oct-Nov 65 about disease and fasting called, "So You Had A Cold." www.coghomeschool.org/site/cog_archives/good_news/1965/10%20October%201965.pdf. One of the very few.

Disease Not Just A Penalty

Disease and sickness were not created as a penalty alone. Sickness serves to notify us that we have broken a law or series of laws. Through disease and sickness we are told to stop breaking laws, stop sinning and look to the cause!

Sickness and disease has a two-fold purpose. In addition to teaching us right from wrong and warning us that we have sinned, disease acts to cleanse the body of accumulated waste, IF waste were not expelled by the common cold, then those who continually and habitually break God's physical laws would die or drown in their own filth!

What Happens

What happens when you do come down with a cold? You develop a fever. You begin coughing and spitting and blowing out through the nose great amounts of mucous in which the cold germ is growing. Because of the presence of disease germs and the fever, the body is forced to stop all other activity with the exception of emergencies and concentrate on expelling the mucous or die!

....The fever also burns up additional amounts of mucous that should have been eliminated through exercise and normal elimination. Finally as a result of a cold and the forced elimination of waste material, the body cells and its organs are cleaned to the point that they can again function and maintain life.

Fasting Too!

Another way that God has designed to expel waste is through fasting. The world looks at fasting with dismay. All too often God's people are negligent in this responsibility.

When we fast, the energy necessary to digest and assimilate food is re-channeled toward cleaning out excess waste material in the body. Fasting is like house-cleaning. When fasting, the normal day by day activities are stopped and all energy is directed toward a thorough clean-up! It takes approximately eight hours a day or a constant drain in body energy just to digest and assimilate food!

The Temple of God

What kind of temple do you provide for God? Is it fitly constructed, cleaned up and rejuvenated according to the architect's plans to the point that it is occupied? Would God dwell in a fat, sloppy, dirty, unkept, uncombed, disobedient, disease-ridden body? Are you working daily to refurnish and remodel the temple of God?

Mr. Meredith mentioned fervency before the church-wide healing fast. Malm said the priests of Baal were fervent, jumping up and down, cutting themselves all over. Fervency is good but you also have to right. Telling brethren they can go to God and doctors for healing is not right. So let's see if God will heal when the sheep and shepherds go to Baalzebub's agents for healing. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
